Shame. said only 1 game instead of 2 arrived. the freight forwarding plan gone pear shaped. Ready to cut my losses. After all, isn't that what day trader is about? Teach the financial lesson.
Hope Samir can come up with a solution for me.

    2. Richard Eicke on December 10, 2013

Just received my copy, looks great! Can't wait to break out the first game tomorrow night.

    3. spoonofmilk on December 9, 2013

Oh... and just wanted to say thanks to Samir for listening to the feedback (or criticism!) and finding an alternative so quickly. Kudos for that!

    4. spoonofmilk on December 9, 2013

Sorry Tom, I had been away for a few days... while I was away though, Samir sent me an update to say he'd added USPS International shipping, so any international backers out there... the price is now a lot more fair at about £19. I still had a bit of hope to find a friend or friend-of-friend going to/comign from USA this year, but at £19 it is much more in-line with what I would expect to pay anyway.

I'd say save yourselves the hassle of alternatives like and go for the USPS option. It now works out better that way, I think!

    5. Nathan Hobbs on December 8, 2013

I just wanted to say I got the game in today, looks great, good materials, and I love the colors, definitely stands out. I finished one game with my brother so it was just 1vs1, it was fun, rules were easy to understand, gameplay was very fun and smooth. The cards are great because just when you think you're doing good, it throws a kink into your plans for retirement. I won the game, I can see though that if you had 4-5 people, it'd get really intense with people fighting over stocks and trying to keep more workers at the same companies. Overall a very fun game and easy to explain and play. P.S. if you're not good with numbers, keep a calculator nearby :)

    6. Sam Lau on December 2, 2013

in the spirit of sharing shipping tips, has a promotion with AMEX 50% off international shipping if the goods were paid for by AMEX. This might help the ones who are already member of both and might want to use this promotion from Cyber Monday.

As I read through the comments, I find it weird that Canadian shipping cost is as much as shipping it to Belgium. ($50.11 USD)

      Eric M on November 27, 2013

Shipping cost more than the game itself for Canadian Backers. lol

    9. Sam Lau on November 26, 2013

Australian backers, we are organising a shipment to Brisbane at the moment. Happy to work out forwarding to other parts of Australia via Austpost or any other local carrier. Please contact sam at samlau dot com dot au. Our estimate of freight savings is around 25-30%.

    10. Tom Haczewski on November 26, 2013

Had another email from Samir. I think it's now pretty evident that we're on our own when it comes to shipping. Nice.

He's confirmed that the dimensions of the packages (and I've converted them to old money):

      15" x 13" x 3" (38cm x 33cm x 8cm)
      2.5lb (1.1kg)

Hope that helps everyone. UK chaps I'm definitely up for combining forces to see if we can reduce postage prices to something less ridiculous.

    11. Tom Haczewski on November 26, 2013

Spoonofmilk I'm up for doing something, because there's no way I'm paying that much for shipping. Samir, we really need you to give us the dimensions and weight of the packages so we can estimate shipping through alternative means.

What on earth. I’ve just seen the shipping cost to the UK. This is terrible. Why wasn’t this made clear before I backed? I would have paid extra at the time, but now it feels like I’m being milked. Not happy about this at all.

    13. spoonofmilk on November 25, 2013

Right... any UK backers wanting to join up and use or something? Might be the easiest and cheapest way of getting our stuff. If needed I'm willing to register and receive the package(s) and ship them on to you, or you can pick them up from me once they arrive... whatever works for people.

    14. Wouter De Bruycker on November 25, 2013

Shipping to Belgium comes down to $49,34, which is a little bit over the top if you ask me. I recon a lot of people are contacting you right now regarding the shipping so I don't really mind waiting a bit longer, though it would be nice if other options were made available to get the shipping cost down. Thanks in advance for looking into it.

    15. Vivian Koh on November 25, 2013

How did you guys manage to see the shipping options etc? Was there an email? I didn't receive anything at all!

What a huge disappointment. I've had plenty of packages bigger than this that have shipped for half the cost to Sydney Australia. Can't you make a USPS OPTION? It's so much cheaper that way. I don't care that it ships via sea. It's taken this long already

A friend thankfully has introduced me to Shipito-

    19. Sam Lau on November 22, 2013

Avakael, Ivan and I are trying to get ours via (with discount freight) to brisbane, if you are interested in joining, maybe we can work out the brissie-adelaide leg via aussie post? Sam

    20. Missing avatar

      Avakael on November 22, 2013

Well, this sucks. Backed the kickstarter, but literally cannot afford the cost of getting the game out to Adelaide, AU.

    21. Ivan on November 22, 2013

Samir, like what Sam Lau mentioned below, I would like to combine my promo code with Sam and share the shipping cost. I am sure something as simple as this can be arranged.

    22. rule-of-three on November 22, 2013

I can only echo this. Very, very disappointed in how this is being handled, especially when the original shipping information stated that "We're working hard to not only have a shipping station in the US but also in the UK to make any games ordered from within the EU to be at a domestic cost as well." Since virtually every board game project I have backed managed to do this, I expected this would not be a problem for you as well, Samir.

    23. Sam Lau on November 22, 2013

Samir, Ivan and would like to combine our shipment to save on freight. Here is what we need.

      1) the dimensions and weight of the shipping package. My other KS games have come in a box and arrived nicely from USA, there is no need for lots of packaging. Example 12x24x4 inches weight 0.5 lbs.
      2) to change our promo code to redeem 2 games to save on ground shipping within US from shopify to our freight forwarder

If there is other people from Australia (we are in Brisbane), get in touch, lets see if we can work out this shipping thing even if Samir cannot.

At US$54 shipping, I will not be collecting the game via the current shipping method. If this was stated in the initial project, I would not have pledged at all.

    24. Tom Haczewski on November 22, 2013

Just had this email from the Daytrader people:

"Your disappointment is understandable. We intended to make the shipping details as clear as possible on the Kickstarter page. Within the reward description it stated/states to "See shipping details below." The section titled "shipping details" at the bottom of the page explains that shipping was not included in the reward and that it is the responsibility of the backer to cover the cost of shipping (and to choose their desired method of shipment) at the time the reward site goes live.

For your reference, link is below:

Unfortunately, international shipping is costly and we have no control over the rates. We'd hate to see you miss out on the game that you helped to support. As an alternative, you could share your promo code with someone in the states. Shipping within the continental US has been ranging between $5 and $15.

Thank you again for your contribution. Please feel free to contact us again if you have further questions. "

Reading between the lines: "We have your money, go swivel". Not impressed. Without us, this project would never happened. What a way to turn your back on people that funded you.

    25. Ignacio Pallares Sevilla on November 22, 2013

$12.74 to ship to NY? That's almost half of what we paid for the game! Are there any other options? I think speak for everyone - you need to give us more options Samir Lyons. Not only have we waited for this game long enough, these shipping prices are insane.

    26. Jason on November 22, 2013

Um... even shipping to the US in Chicago is $12.12! What. :(

    27. Joel Collyer on November 22, 2013

Even to get the game to Canada it's going to cost an additional $23.54! These shipping rates are mental. What gives!?

Dude, 2x the cost of of the game to ship to the uk, surely their are some other providers you can offer? are fedex and ups more? or not available? what gives?

    30. Sam Lau on November 22, 2013

Ivan, looks like Samir is using the service of and so the shipping rate is "off the shelf", if we freight forward with even, we get 40% off FedEx / DHL rates to Australia, we will still have to pay the USD$9.74 leg of getting the package to's warehouse. Are you in Brisbane? my email is sam at samlau dot com dot au, lets take this offline and see what Samir thinks. I emailed him separately.

    31. Ivan on November 22, 2013

      Hi Sam,

Sounds like a good idea. Pls let me know :)

I am not keen on paying shipping 2x the cost of the game.

    32. Sam Lau on November 22, 2013

Samir, can you please provide Dimensions and weight of the shipping package so I can get a quote on freight forwarding? Many freight forwarders give as much as 40% off. Thanks

    33. Sam Lau on November 22, 2013

Ivan, I am in Brisbane, maybe we can do freight forwarding if we can't get a refund

    34. Tom Haczewski on November 22, 2013

There is absolutely no way I'm paying $56 for delivery to the UK.

    35. Ivan on November 22, 2013

yea.. $55USD for shipping to Australia?! That's almost $60AUD in the current exchange rate. :(

Like spoonofmilk. Very disappointed as well. I've ordered bigger parcel from the US paying less that $15USD for shipment.

Is there anyway I can get a refund? Can't really afford it at the moment.

    36. spoonofmilk on November 22, 2013

$56 for delivery to the UK? Are you having a laugh?! I now have to question if it is worth bothering to order it now when delivery is almost twice the cost of the game.

      Very disappointed...

    37. Jason on September 11, 2013

How's the project going along? Any new updates? :)

    38. Samir Lyons Creator on August 29, 2013

@JamesM - Daytrader is still in production, we are still on schedule for the November release as promised. As soon as the games ship from China to our warehouse in CA I will send out another formal update. Thanks for checking in!

    39. James Matchett on August 27, 2013

Umm is there any updates? With the expected date coming up we haven't heard or seen anything. Samir can you give us any information?

    40. spoonofmilk on August 14, 2013

Hopefully the lack of success on Indiegogo isn't going to hit us on Kickstarter?

Thanks Samir, I look forward to it

    44. Samir Lyons Creator on April 2, 2013

@Stephan - I will not be shipping the games directly to you. Once the website is live you will be able to go onto the site, claim your reward and pay for the shipping you want (ground, 2 day, next day, etc) at that time. I am unaware of any additional charges to ship to South Africa, but I have never done it before.

      Hi Samir,

I just received a postal address request so that I can have my game shipped to me.
      1. Are there any additional charges for international shipment, as I live in South Africa.
      2. Also, do you know if I will be charged import tax on my shipment?

Thanks, I can't wait to get playing!!
