Let's face it, tea is generally boring and traditional BUT it doesn't have to be. Modern, exotic and tasty teas are here and just a heads up, your grandma's probably going to be jealous. After more than a year of hustling and overcoming countless obstacles, I'm finally ready to expand my product line and bring amazing Caribbean flavored teas to your door. Taste the Caribbean, taste di vibes!
We've already launched Taste Antigua | Pineapple Ginger Twist Tea and the response has been great. Customers have loved the unique flavor combination and have been constantly asking when new flavors would be added. In fact many customers have even suggested blends themselves. We're excited to make Taste Jamaica | Coconut Rum Pimento Tea, Taste Trinidad | Chai Bitters Tea and Taste St. Vincent | Orange Chicory Spice Tea available for the first time through Kickstarter*.
Taste Trinidad | Chai Bitters Tea: Trinidad and Tobago, the gorgeous twin islands! Trinidad is known for its lively carnival, enegetic sounds of steelpan and it's every growing metropolis. Tobago is the quiet and relaxing sanctuary where one can get away from it all. Savor life's balance with chai flavor that gives you a hint of the Trini spice, and bitters that's a calming reminder of the ever present magic of Tobago. Health benefits: Bitters aids in digestion, balances appetite and curbs sugar cravings.
Taste Jamaica | Coconut Rum Pimento Tea: Who doesn't love Jamaica? Land of reggae music, jerk chicken and Usain Bolt. One of the most popular ingredients in Jamaican cooking is pimento (allspice) and its the secret to all things 'jerk'. We promise, you've never had a tea like this before and with its hint of rum, you may be belting out "One Love" by the end of your cup. Health benefits: Pimento is anti-inflammatory, high in anti-oxidants, prevents nausea and gas
Taste St. Vincent | Orange Chicory Spice Tea: Did you know that chicory root has a deep taste reminiscent of coffee but without the caffeine? This full- bodied tea is the perfect pairing for your breakfast and will help start your day off invigorated and inspired while thinking of secret waterfalls and exotic black sand beaches. Health benefits: Chicory can aid in stress reduction, supports a healthy gut and detoxes the liver
Taste Antigua | Pineapple Ginger Twist Tea : Escape with exotic flavors of pineapple, ginger and coconut to the beautiful island of Antigua, land of 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. Slow down, relax and unwind as you think of sunshine and swaying palm trees. Whether hot, chilled or iced, you're bound to enjoy this delicious fruit tea. Health benefits: Pineapple boosts your immune system, improves skin texture and has anti-inflammatory properties.

*This tea is great. Very unique flavour. I also love the packaging. Very modern and classy. It really lives up to it's motto "we're not your grandma's tea".- Ruth
I love tea but I've often found it boring, flat, dull. There were better loose leaf tea options but there's simply not enough time for that. One day I was telling a friend in the USA about bush tea (a Caribbean breakfast staple made from various local herbs, grasses or leaves). She had no clue what I was talking about. Everyone knows about British tea culture and Asian tea culture but what about Caribbean tea culture? Tea is huge in the Caribbean. It's served with breakfast and often drunk again before bed. For Caribbeans, it solves all sorts of ailments from an upset stomach to a headache, to a cold to depression. Tea is the ultimate cure-all. I decided to create Caribbean flavored teas, share my culture with the world and finally provide another option to grandma's tea. To get your own tea, just click one of the reward levels on the right!
We won't be able to ship the teas in time for Christmas but we still want you to be able to give them as a gift! We've created a letter you can print out and give to your loved one, co-worker or friend letting them know they've been gifted tea and it will be shipped to them in February.
As a special needs teacher in Antigua, I knew that I wanted to give back through my company. In the Caribbean, special needs is an often overlooked area and in Antigua, virtually no opportunities exist for students with special needs once they graduate secondary school. Taste Tea Naturals has collaborated with the Adele School for Special Children in Antigua to create a vocational experience and co-op program where students can get meaningful and sustainable opportunities to participate in business. As a part of the program, students have the opportunity to develop skills in communication, rota-making, budgeting, cooking, agriculture, organization, packaging, sales, customer service, forecasting and planning, marketing, discussion, reflection, critical analysis, collaboration and running a small business. This program is sustained through a portion of profits from Taste Antigua | Pineapple Ginger Twist.
Students with special needs also get first hand business experience through our local bubble and iced tea subsidiary ICED by Taste Tea Naturals. The students make and sell drink concentrates and syrups to ICED which allows for a sustainable partnership.
We currently sell on the side of the road, weekends only plus events, however customers have been begging for us to be "in town" daily. This would require hiring staff and securing a location. If we surpass our funding goal, funds will go towards purchasing a used food truck for ICED by Taste Tea Naturals- Antigua Bubble Tea so that we can expand our co-op program and employ some of the former students of the Adele School, allowing our belief in empowerment to come full circle!
We feel a food truck is the best option as it eliminates very costly rent and allows us to be mobile and therefore flexible. We'll also be able to serve food options to accompany our teas and drinks and have another revenue stream. Lastly, it'll allow us to continue our operations despite rainy days and bad weather and participate in events and festivals around the country.
One reason we love Kickstarter is that supporters are able to receive tangible gifts for their generosity and support! We've put together some rewards we think you'll love that capture our brand, our product and our heart.
This company has grown from an idea to a reality with savings and a lot of hard work. Creating and running a business on a small island comes with a lot of challenges and limitations which prevent us from growing and scaling as we would like. Funds from Kickstarter will help us raise the funds we need to successfully grow and build brand awareness at the same time.
- product development
- improving our e-commerce website
Starting a business while working a full time job is nothing short of exhausting. But just as working as a teacher is rewarding, so is building a company that also makes a difference. All contributions, no matter how small, help me get closer to my goal. At the same time, there are lots of financial commitments and if we can exceed our funding goal we will have a bit of of a cushion plus can go further.
- $11,000- Printed tags. Currently our tea tags are hand stamped which is a nice touch but it takes a long time. Reaching this goal will allow us to print our logo on the tags and save valuable time!
- $20,000- And then there was 5! We will come out with Taste Dominica tea. Flavor profile will be chosen by you the backers! All backers will receive a sample of this tea.
- $60,000- Help us move from the side of the road to an economical, used food truck. We'll be able to expand our current weekend only operations into a full time business, meet our customers' demands for daily operation and expand our offerings.

Special thanks to GOD first, Astley, Julie and Ruth, Josian and Elkanah, Shiraz and Ritu, Sarah (extra special thanks), Andrew and Tiffanie, Dana, Lenore and Kayla. A huge thank you to the staff and students of the Adele School for Special Children, you motivate me every day.
Thank you so much for your interest in my small tea company. My goals are simple, make great tea and make a difference. I don't get ANY funds unless I meet my goal. Please pledge today by choosing a reward level on the right. You'll get an email after the campaign to figure out tea choices/shipping details. If you can share our campaign with your family, friends and colleagues on Facebook I'd really appreciate it!

Risks and challenges

We will be open and transparent with any obstacles and keep our backers updated at all times.
