The Gallery Z ArtMobile is the latest concept for bringing fine art to the streets of Providence and beyond. I want to bring original art to many destinations and communities where it is not available or accessible. Made from a renovated FedEx truck, the ArtMobile's interior will feature a hardwood floor, hanging system, surround sound system, digital monitors and track lighting to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The exterior of this gallery on wheels will be distinctively painted with Gallery Z's ArtMobile logo. In addition to providing artwork for festivals, private, public and corporate events, this unique art-space will serve as a moving calling card for the Rhode Island art community. I plan to do this immediately.
I have just purchased a FedEx 1999 Chevy 18 foot box truck in good condition. The money from this Kickstarter campaign will be necessary to transform the truck by retrofitting it to become the Gallery Z ArtMobile, an innovative vehicle bringing fine art to the people.
Questions and Answers.
Why have I chosen to use Kickstarter?
I am using Kickstarter as a way to initially launch this project, however, I am also using it as a tool to get the word out about my vision.
How Does Kickstarter work?
If a project meets it's goal, the money raised is given to the owner to support and "kickstart" their project.
If a project doesn't meet it's goal within it's time limit (even if it's a dollar off), no money is exchanged. (No money will be taken from the backers).
If a project goes over the goal, this is perfectly okay and those funds will be used to further expand the concept of this project.
More facts about the ArtMobile truck concept:
purchase and acquisition of truck has been done. Maintenance,
mechanical and safety issues have been addressed.
Demolition, stripping/gutting of truck has been finished. Prep work for construction - completed. Plan and design has been initiated, researched and approved. Construction and retrofitting is to begin.

Why do we need the funds?
Funds will be used for purchasing raw materials such as wood, paint, electrical supplies, doors, lighting, flooring, signage, art handing and sound system and other products. Labor costs are not included. The gallery director will incur this expense. A number of people with different backgrounds and expertise have volunteered to help.
Art should not be incarcerated.
Who said fine art has to be locked away in museums and galleries?
Who decided that all the excitement, the inspiration, the emotion that artists put into their work has to be hung from a wall like a spice rack?
Imagine if somehow art could be set free. Free to roam the countryside, free to tour urban neighborhoods, to reach the beaches, even go out at night.
The Gallery Z ArtMobile is a getaway vehicle that carries a truckload of framed artistry to libraries and senior centers, festivals and campuses, fundraisers and hospitals. Anywhere.
I created the Gallery Z ArtMobile as a way to bring wonderful paintings, drawings and sculpture to people who might not have the opportunity to visit a gallery or museum. The ArtMobile will be a traveling celebration of the creative spirit here in Providence, a city with a rich history of design innovation, and I hope it’s an inspiration to others around the world.
