What we're about:
'I Want To Be Bacon When I Grow Up' is about a pig who wants to become bacon. Come on, that's funny. It's not gross or morbid. It’s a cute book. And unlike most children's books, parents will enjoy reading this too. So don't worry, we’ve read it to our son and we aren't going to read something to our child that would scar him for life.
All that said, even the most diehard bacon lover might think a pig wanting to be bacon is a little wrong. However, unless you’re a vegetarian (and more power to you if you are) this book is a great way to introduce the idea of where foods come from and how we are to treat the aniamals with respect.
As of right now ‘I Want To Be Bacon When I Grow Up’ is going to be self-published. This is the only place where you can get a copy. However, the goal is to get onto the book shelves of every bookstore possible. Also keep in mind that the first print run will be the collector's copy because once a big time publisher sees the sales and awesomeness of this book, we'll get scooped up in no time.
And in case you are wondering, there are plenty more on the way. 'Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!' 'Can I Be Bacon Too?' and 'My Food Eats Your Food.'
For the Record:
We are not for the mistreatment of any animal. However, we eat them. For the record, we eat free-ranged meats and cage free eggs. We have a respect for animals and that's what this book is about. Not to be morbid, but to introduce the idea of where food comes from while also celebrating the ethical treatment of animals. Kind of like how Native Americans treated the animals they killed or how Mufasa explained the circle of life to Simba in the Lion King.
And we understand some people will see the mere act of eating an animal to be vile and we respect your views. Please respect ours because we all at least agree that under no circumstances should animals be abused. Free-ranged bacon is the way we roll.

What are some problems that may arise? And how will we destroy them?
What if...we run out of ideas and can't finish the book? Ha! The book is already written so problem solved.
What if...a big time publisher doesn't buy and distribute it? They probably won't unless this campaign can make some BIG time waves. So this really isn't a problem because we are planing on a small first printing with a small publisher. Then with book in hand and actual sales, we will then take the book to the big time publishers. They'll publish and we'll do the happy bacon dance
What if...a giant comet is going to destroy the planet before the book is published? A comet that big would probably be known by the general public. So once they determined the day and time of impact I will upload a reading of the book to YouTube and provide a link to all donors. However, I strongly urge you to not care about the book and instead spend time with loved ones since the world is about to end.
What if... all these 'what if...' scenarios aren't being taken seriously and if something did go wrong we would have no idea what to do so your money would be lost? Nah, we joke, but have some trust. We would never dishonor bacon by not publishing this book.
You hit your goal, but I still want to donate and get one of your awesome books. Can I still donate?
YES! Until there are no more days left YOU CAN STILL DONATE, While yes we hit our goal, all that means is that no matter what, this book will be getting published. All donations from this point on will be used to improve the product and increase the print run. So its not to late to show your love and support. You can still donate. Thank you in advance.
