Halloween Thanks-Giving

Posted by Rick Dakan (Creator)

Happy Halloween!

Well, not as happy as we had originally planned, but happier than I feared it would be. I want to thank all of you for sticking with us and for all the kindness and support you've offered in the past few weeks. It's been just plain amazing.

We're figuring out the whole open source development thing - if you want to pop over and take a look at the project's site, it's here:

As a token of our thanks and as a Halloween treat, Austin has put together some cool wallpapers based on Haunts - there's one for the denizens and one for the intruders, as well as some more understated backgrounds that are suitable for cell phones and tablets. You can (and should!) download them from the version of this post on our Web site, here:

Go scare someone!

I suspect that Rick will interact with backers via Kickstarter, and coders/contributors via Trac/e-mail. Those that are both can wear two hats and change them as necessary :-)

Rick, the documentation, per port, on the game sources wiki, looks pretty thorough! I feel that the project would benefit from some build automation (so that it's a closer to simply checking the code out, running "make", and testing the build). I wonder if anyone has come on board to do build cleanups...

I do hope to get the game some day and I do hope you'll keep pursuing that.
Any way: Happy Halloween and Good Luck!
      :)

If there is a major change in the open source project, will updates be posted here, or is this sort of the last comminuque?
