About this project
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN OUR WEBATHON ON SUNDAY, WHETHER YOU MADE A PLEDGE, CALLED, CAME TO THE STUDIO, PERFORMED, CO-HOSTED OR WERE INTERVIEWED (OR HELPED WITH THE PRODUCTION). WE REALLY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU. LET'S DO THE BEST WE CAN BY 7:00 P.M. TUESDAY.
Project Goal:To communicate the stories (and the incredible emotions behind them) of real people in Michigan who, after 10 years of recession and the collapse of both the auto industry and Wall Street, "reinvented themselves" and found their economic and emotional salvation in the burgeoning film industry. Now, these people are in the grip of fear as the incentives are under attack and their own personal stories could be the game changers. Our first ad was a simple one with self submissions by IPhones. Now we have HD quality and lots more stories to slice in. Check it out at:
We want to take the now over 5000 e-mail stories from ordinary people in Michigan that have come in to www.filmcreditswork.com and another 5000 supporters from www.facebook.com/TellRick and create video compilations of those stories.
The project is a collaborative effort to:
1) Post the videos on our YouTube channel (RicksWrong). The first batch is up.
2) Vote on the best stories by using "likes" and select the best 100 videos for the "Video Wall." "The Wall" is the curved wall of 100 monitors as seen on www.filmcreditswork.com.
3) Vote on the best of "The Wall" and edit them into 30-second spots for an ad campaign that features the best of the best.
4) Get Maximum Exposure Impact through the use of social media and traditional media (TV) to communicate these stories. This will put faces to the numbers!
The money raised will be used for production, the purchase of airtime, and polling to measure the impact of these stories on the public.
REWARDS - FABULOUS INDUSTRY MATCHES
1) First $2500 MATCH - EXXODUS PICTURES
Michigan-based Exxodus Pictures is a motion picture company whose business begins but does not end at film. Exxodus will continue to develop the creative infrastructure in Michigan, originate ideas, create jobs and retain all profits in Michigan. To support this commitment, Exxodus has completed production on the upcoming feature film “JINN” - a supernatural thriller shot and produced entirely in Michigan while leveraging the talent our state offers. In addition, Exxodus has created a vehicle called the "FireBreather" that will be showcased in "JINN". This special project illustrates Exxodus’ commitment in creating original ideas and intellectual properties resulting in new jobs and opportunities while concurrently supporting the vast automotive infrastructure already present. By partnering with another Michigan-based company, Classic Design Concepts, the vehicle was designed and built with the highest level of resources abundantly available in Michigan.
