Long ago I wrote a touching 11 stanza poem, "Hearts and Crafts." It tells the tale of a crafter, the "Heartsmith" who's special porcelain white heart is broken. Saddened, the Heartsmith builds another heart to replace it, which also gets broken and so on until the piece ends in a touching allegorical note about keeping one's heart open because "a breakable heart's a more lovely possession compared to a heart no one can touch."
'm finally illustrating this poem into a proper children's book and will self-publish it for now. Having donors pledge to the piece will motivate me to complete it and the eventual payoff will allow me the funds to give those donors a signed copy.
I will update everyone with the progress of the book, featuring completed illustrations on http://heartsandcraftsbook.blogspot.com/
Also, I'll be asking for your advice, perhaps running designs for elements, backgrounds and such by YOU so that with your help I can make this book even more awesometacular.
If the total funding goes up to $3,000.00 I'll be able to hire and work with a programmer to turn it into an animation-rich interactive e-book with a fully animated Heartsmith narrating it for you and turning your pages.
