Let’s be very clear, this is not just another cut and paste gimmick adventure, we don’t do half assed video games. JD Bacon the game is a fast paced, comedy influenced adventure platformer for the PC that is filled with passion. Gameplay will be fast paced with unique elements that keep the player engaged from start to finish. The game will feature massive levels consisting of 3D art and animation. Although the gameplay with be 2D action, we want a superior visual quality that everyone will respect. Our hearts and portions of our bacon eating, game loving, souls are being poured into this game.
Why is the amount S15,000? Well sadly we don't have the money to afford the licenses that we need. We have found a way to reduce the cost of the licenses but not by very much. Another thing that goes into the total cost is wages. As of right now we have about $7000 split up 7 ways before taxes. This is about $1000 for each member for about 5 months.
Another thing for us to consider is how much is taken off for kickstarter.com and amazon.com. They each take about 5%. And the last thing for us to consider is prizes. Our group has thought up of a bunch of in game or digital prizes, which will reduce costs. The last thing for us to consider is taxes. Which isn't included in the chart, but the idea is to pay the taxes with whatever is left and taking it out of our wages.
In the not too distant future, our planet is unified by the vegan movement H.A.M. (Humans Against eating Meat). Eating meat now outlawed and Earth changes to a utopia of healthy living. Animals and humans coexist. Many animals grew intelligence over the decades because of this coexistence. The pigs were the first to gain the heightened intelligence. They formed a culture of their own. Shortly afterwards, they created their own country and settlements all around the world.
The peace did not last long…..
One pig desires to rule the world. A mad genetic scientist, Dr. Swine creates an army of evil monsters to help him in his quest. His takeover starts. Members of the vegan movement disappear. The zombies bring anarchy within the streets of the H.A.M. capital named Topia.
Nobody knows what is going on. The leader of the H.A.M. movement, Kaliflower, and the champion of the pigs, JD Pig, begin a combined effort to stop the zombie threat and take down whoever is responsible. Little do they know that this threat is just the beginning. Dr. Swine is through with JD and Kaliflower’s meddling. He decides to turn them against each other. The evil doctor sends his minions to capture Kali Flower for experimentation. With the H.A.M. leader under his control, he starts the second phase of his plan-- kill JD Pig.
JD never expected the fight to enter his home; especially not in the form of one of his allies. Kaliflower and her fellow zombie lackeys overran the Topian pig embassy; slaughtering everybody within, including JD Pig. The remaining good pig scientists are hard at work to find a way to bring life back into JD Pig. One failure after another discourages the pigs, but the pigs need their champion to rise again. Finally success! Their hero is back, but this time crunchier and crispier in his new bacon form. JD Bacon is hungry for revenge and will not stop until he puts those who killed his family and friends to justice.
He is the hero of our story. JD Bacon was once the great pig war hero, JD Pig. Until one day, the evil plot of Dr. Swine left JD Pig for dead. Professor Snout and the pig scientists had no choice but to try and resurrect him. All that they could bring back was a piece of Bacon. JD Bacon is ready for revenge, and revenge is best served crispy.
JD Bacon turns into Super Bacon after consuming Professor Snout greatest invention, “Baconaise”. Super Bacon is stronger, faster, and meatier than JD Bacon.
He is the lead scientist of the P.S.A. (Pig Science Academy). Professor Snout is renowned in genetics and mechanical science.
He was once Professor Snout’s most promising student and assistant. They had worked together for years, but Dr. Swine wanted more. Dr. Swine hungered for power and would use the scientific knowledge he acquired from Professor Snout to rule the world.
The leader of the H.A.M. organization. She is respected and loved all over the world. Dr. Swine saw her as a threat that had to be taken down. Dr. Swine abducted and infected Kali Flower; turning her against the people that respected her and against JD Pig.
These zombies were once the peaceful citizens of Topia, until Dr. Swine’s air born experimental concoction infected them and turned them into his horrible zombie army.
The Excalibacon is Professor Snout’s latest melee weapon creation. This weapon was made from the body parts of his fallen pig allies. Even in death pigs will be avenged. This undead sword hungers for his enemies flesh.
Bacon Salt Shotgun
This is no ordinary shotgun, Professor Snout has created the powerful bacon salt shells. Each shell contains bacon salts, a deadly substance for Dr. Swine's monsters..
This machine gun was designed to shoot bacon flavored sunflower seeds. "Say hello to my bacon friend!", JD shouts over the shower of the sunflower bacon seeds.
Breaking into the gaming industry is a difficult task, but one we want to undertake. Making high quality games is our dream, one that will be achieved. Everyone on the team is passionate and determined. No amount of setbacks or obstacles will stop us from getting the ball rolling. This game will be made, it’s going to happen. That being said, top ramen gets expensive after a while and we want to be able to devote all of our time to this game rather than the few fleeting moments we can spare between jobs. We are asking only the minimum. This is the beginning, our start into a lifelong career.
John Davis - Programmer - He has the job of making the game work. Our game without him and Darin would just be a series of still levels.
Brandon Carey - 2D Artist, Character Artist & Designer - He is the one who created the look of JD Bacon. He also created the look of all of the other characters, weapons, and other 2D assets within the game.
Travis Banks - Designer, Producer, Writer, 3D Artist, Level Designer, Additional Texture Artist, Additional UI Artist, & Audio - His job is to create the environmental assets, help design and create the levels, ensure consistency of game content, create any additional textures, and write the story and dialogue of the game.
Darin Lantzy - Programmer & Producer - His job is to develop the game architecture and coordinate between the different members of the team to integrate into the final game.
Michael Tarlao - Level Designer, UI Artist, Audio, & 3D Artist - He is the main level designer. His responsibilities include creating the overall design and theme in each level as well as some assets within the level. He also works on creating the design of the UI and works with other team members making the audio for the game.
Ephraim Cole - Cinematic Artist & Texture Artist - He is the person responsible for making all of the graphical art in between gameplay as well as color some of the 3D assets for the game.
Kevin Hofstrand - Texture Artist & UI Artist - He colors the 3D assets and creates some of the 2D images for the textures as well as the UI.

Tears of joy will roll down our faces, our meals will consist of nothing but bacon, and every person who pledges will get an honorary bacon item.
Our main risk to this project is the amount of time each team member has to devote to the game. We have demanding jobs that require a significant amount of time from our daily lives and impedes the progress for developing this game. This can consistently push back the release date causing our backers to become impatient.
To compensate for this risk some items in the project will have to be removed. We want to make sure that every part of the game feels polished and this might require forfeiting items and features to reach that goal. Its a considerable risk but one that's needed to create a great game.
