After the critical success of Season One, we're ready to make the second season of Wizard Hunters: The Series. Season One is composed of five fast-paced episodes about a young girl discovering that she plays a vital role in this historied, underground battle between wizards and vampires. We've only just begun our story, laying out the main characters and introducing the plot line. Season Two will dig in deep into the characters' backstories and flesh out our plot. Essentially, if you are up for some more fantastical epic-ness, you'll want to make sure Season Two gets made.
A 100% of the funds will go toward the making of the Wizard Hunters: The Series. Much of the funds will go to paying back the loan we took out to make Season One. The rest will go toward Season Two, including the provision of craft services on set, payment to the actors, crew, and special effects help, and the creation of the sets, costumes, and special effects makeup. A big chunk of money also goes toward marketing and publicity, because if nobody sees it or can find the web series, then what's the point? :) If we reach our Kickstarter goal of $32,000, then Season Two will be composed of five brand new episodes. If we raise $40,000, it will have seven brand new episodes. If we raise more... Well, gosh, we'll just have to do something awesome for you guys!!
Below are the five episodes of the first season of Wizard Hunters, If you haven't watched them yet, please check them out!! :)
Risks and challenges
Making the series has been, and will continue to be challenging. I imagine that filmmaking at any level is a complicated beast! Although, it has undoubtedly been a team effort, the difficulty of the process is compounded when funds are low and we cannot afford much help. Thus, Antonio and I (Cori) do the majority of the work on Wizard Hunters. Due to the fact, that our business video company pays the bills right now, we work on the series in between jobs, causing the episodes to take an extra long time to complete. Kickstarter funds will allow us to allocate time specifically to Wizard Hunters, and therefore finish them and get them out to our fans more quickly. Money will enable us to gain assistance from another writer, video editor, and makeup artist. There are many things that we think went well on the first season and some we will improve on for the second. While adding more professional team members will undoubtedly add to the quality of the series, we also intend to stay current with special effect trends and continue to expand our own skill set in this regard and in all others.
Since we have all the creative control and only our fans to please, we will handle setbacks the same way we did on the first season, by spending as much time as necessary to find the right solution to the problem-- PERSEVERANCE. We are big believers in preparation and planning, so many times we avoid setbacks before they manifest! :)
