This project will be funded on .
A new, easy-to-use planner that resembles an analog clock made to keep you in charge all hours of the day.
What is a prototype?
A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Functional Prototype
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Appearance Prototype
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Design Prototype
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Production Prototype
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
About this project
PlanO's fun take on the traditional planner introduces a new way to organize your life and goals successfully.
As a product designer who is always being inspired, I’ve grown to become a dedicated user of sketchbooks, notepads, and planners anywhere I go. This is why finding them in lasting quality is a very important trait to consider before purchasing. The only problem is that there are so many planners with the exact same layout, so I started designing a new style of planner in the last few years.
I used to make my own daily schedules inside drawings of a clock, and I remember it being so visually easy to look at and remember, compared to words just written across a page. Because everyone is familiar with the circular dial clock, my old habits allowed me to develop this idea, and it is also how I got the name Plan O.
- Replace your Plan A with Plan O. Organize and outline your future in a way where you won't need any more alternate plans.
- Everyone has their own style of writing and planning. The user-friendly, multi-faceted planner appeals to all different types of people.
So what's the difference between this planner and the one from our previous campaign?
Finals week at college calls for some serious planning, but Spring break? Not so much.
That is why we are excited to introduce our newly transformed PlanO Planners. Of course we stayed committed to the classic design of our unique weekly layouts, but now they come undated so you get to plan according to your schedule and lifestyle.
Ultimately this decision was made based on our focus to emphasize convenience, versatility, and conservation. Even as avid planners, we found that many days, weeks, or even months may fly by unused, either because there is no planning required or we simply forget. These pages would then have to go to waste. However, with our new planners you can just pick up where you left off without having to worry about how many pages were wasted.
We can’t go back into the past, but we can always plan ahead. We wanted to create something timeless (literally) so that our users could ultimately have full control over what they do and when they do it. Enjoy the freedom to plan, erase, skip, save, and be creative.
Take a look inside the new PlanO Planner:
• 2017, 2018 Calendar
• Special Days to Remember
- Writing dates and events throughout the weeks can get lost within the pages after a while. This “Special Days to Remember” section are two pages dedicated to all 12 months of the year, conveniently designed for the user to write down any birthdays or special occasions without the hassle of having to flip through pages to find them again.
• Yearly Goals
- This section introduces you to the new year and lets you plan out any large scale projects or goals.
• Monthly Plans (12 months, 24 pages)
- A zoomed-in look into life from the yearly layout. These are great for keeping your priorities straight for every month and setting objectives for yourself.
• Weekly Plans - Our Best Designed Pages! - (53 weeks, 106 pages)
- PlanO prides itself in the introduction of the new hourly planner that distinguishes this product from the many others in the market. With this hourly planner, you can visually plan out every day to the hour and never be late for a meeting or class again.
• Daily Diary (371 days, 53 pages) & Dotted Grid (56 pages)
- In addition to the hourly planner for every week, a daily diary section follows where you can write and elaborate on anything that didn’t fit in the previous pages.
- Inspired by an architecture's sketchbook that is used when designing a building or project, these pages are dotted so that they can be used as graph paper, for drawings, or as lined paper. The dots are soft and pale so that the pages can also be treated as blank paper.
PlanO Planner: Total 250 pages
If you are a company/business/organization/etc. placing an order of 50 or more planners, we present the option of imprinting your own logo anywhere on the back cover! You may choose a color other than white for your logo, but only one color will be allowed. NO EXTRA CHARGE! ($400 value).
*Must provide ai or pdf vector image file of your logo.
About Shipping:
- We want to complete all shipments before 2017 starts. Shipping may be slightly delayed due to the high traffic of delivery season, but we expect them to be sent out to you no later than January 2017. It is our top priority and we will try our absolute best to send them as soon as possible so everyone will be able to receive it just in time for the new year.
"Only the Best and most Genuine Craftsmanship!"
Risks and challenges
The team at PlanO are working hard to produce planners for our consumers worldwide. Our ultimate goal is to produce planners that are of the best quality, and we will constantly be trying to develop and improve as 2017 and future years come around.
Our main priority would be to have these products shipped out and delivered to you as early as possible for the new year. However, all our products are manufactured outside the U.S., and with this may come unforeseen challenges when trying to receive our planners in a timely fashion, such as delays and shipment issues. In the events that we do face problems, we will personally do everything in our hands to get them to you as fast and easy as possible.
We may also get the question on why we’ve decided to leave our planners undated this time around.
We’d like to look at our previous campaign, not as unsuccessful or unfunded, but as a learning experience. Being a small company, we are only getting started on trying to expand our name. To us, it didn’t seem fair that someone who discovered our company halfway through the year would only get half the use out of our planners while they’d still be paying full price. It challenged us to redesign and rethink for our new campaign so that people could enjoy our planners anytime regardless of when they may have purchased it.
All in all we’d like to think of this change as an opportunity for improvement and growth, and a challenge that we’ve learned to overcome in order to help the majority. We want to be a company that listens and grows through feedback. We are committed to keeping you informed of our progress in the months following the campaign. This is why we ask that our supporters are willing to be active along with us in this journey so we’ll be able to hear your opinions. In the event that unexpected issues arise in the delivery schedule, we will do our utmost best to minimize the impact on our early supporters and dedicate ourselves to providing you with the best experience.
