The Zombie Hunters Book Two
The story of the...story!
Here are some snippets from Book One so you know what we are striving for.
A very nice shiny book! (New book smell included!)
It is inspired by a post-apocalyptic vision of the future as well as past human history. This story follows a group of zombie hunters as they go though life as survivors of the undead outbreak. The characters reside on an artificial island, the former site of the Argus Research Campus. The hunters, like so many others on the island, are infected- they carry a dormant strain of the undead virus, which will cause them to turn into one of several different types of undead when they die.
The infected are marked and segregated from the rest of the inhabitants on the island, making a living by working offshore in the wastes, hunting zombies and collecting salvage, trading their freedom for safety. As the story unfolds you'll find out more about the characters and their sordid pasts and discover hidden secrets about them, their world, and the people that surround them.
We are super pumped up and excited to bring you the next Zombie Hunters book! So much so that we've added a chance to be a part of it. There are ten spots to get in as a red shirt and die a brave, terrible death as a zombie or a survivor. And one lucky soul will get a chance to live on as a side character within the comic.
So what are the details?
First up, the basics- this book is going to be 160 pages long, 162 if you get the digital version. (They're made using a lot of the same file templates, so the digital version needs placeholder graphics where the blank cover sections would be on the physical book)
What's in those 160 pages?
Here's the breakdown: 138 pages are comics that were originally published online. Jenny's cleaned up the art, touched up the details, and it really pops now. After that, we've got 22 pages of additional material. That's things like art spreads, author's note, footnotes for all the comics, and, oh yeah, a much longer mini story than was in the first book. You're going to get to see how one of the characters came to the island. We're not saying who, though! You'll have to read it and find out ;)
We should also mention that the mini comic will be the same in both the digital and the physical books. But the bonus art will be different! So no matter which one you get, you'll get something special. Or buy both, and collect them all!
What else is there? I want more!
We've got you covered! You can get the regular book, or you can get a sketch edition! If you'd like the sketch edition, Jenny will be adding in a hand-drawn sketch of her choice in the front of each of these. We're only doing a limited number this time, though- we don't want to kill Jenny's arm :)
Not enough! Give me more!
Can do! If you'd like to, you can join the world of The Zombie Hunters. Pledge for the red shirt level, and send Jenny a recent digital photograph of yourself, and you'll be included in the mini comic. You'll be in as a survivor or as a zombie, and you'll have a brief moment to shine before being killed off in as terrible a way as Jenny sees fit at the moment. In addition to your brief and horrifying death, you'll get a sketch edition of the book, and a piece of the original artwork that goes into the making of one of the pages that featured your character. All the redshirts will be featured in an ensemble page at the end of the mini comic, as well. Death never looked so good!
Wait, how horrible a death are we talking here?
You remember Jameson, don't you? He'll be in this book!
Hold on! What if I want to LIVE?
Oh, well. Living, right? If you'd like to live, we have one chance to do so- you can survive the ordeal and join the cast as a minor character on ARC island. But you'd better act fast- there's only one chance to live! Survivors on ARC can be assured that they'll be in the mini comic, and will be seen out and about throughout the island as the story goes on. Your character will have a chance to interact with Halo guards, doctors, or other cast members as time goes by, at Jenny's discretion.
You'll receive a digital copy of the book as soon as it's ready, a signed sketch edition of the book, a piece of the original artwork that went into the making of the mini comic that has your character, an original piece of concept art by Jenny that contains your character concept that will be included in the future story, and another extra copy of the book that you can loan out to friends to show off your swanky new life as the survivor of the zombie apocalypse!
Can I be a bigger part of the story?
Yes! There are a few roles in the story where Jenny has the character and the plot developed, but doesn't have a name or concept art made up for the character yet. If you want your likeness to be a larger part of the overall story, you can pledge at our highest tier. Your character will then be a meaningful part of the story.
You will also get a digital copy of the book, a sketch edition of the book, and another copy to show off to friends. You will also get the original concept artwork of your character.
$20,000 - LIMITED EDITION HARDCOVER: If the project reaches $20,000 we will release a limited hardcover edition of the book. All of our redshirts, survivor, and supporting character will be upgraded to hardcover editions, and everyone else will be able to put in a new pledge or upgrade your old pledge to receive the hardcover edition.
$30,000 - MURBLESAUR BOOK: If funding hits $30,000, we'll make a Murblesaur Children's Activity Book. The Murblesaur comic plus fun art and activities- perfect for any occasion!
$50,000 - NOT YET UNLOCKED: Will be posted if/when we reach $20,000- but it'll be cool!

$100,000 - NOT YET UNLOCKED: Will be posted if/when we reach $50,000 - and it will be AWESOME.
Risks and challenges
There were a lot of issues that came up when the first Zombie Hunters book was printed. Incorrect shipping charges, poor coding on the website, orders that were lost in the mail and unable to be replaced, and books that fell apart.
Well. We've learned from our mistakes, and that's not going to happen again. We're using Kickstarter, to make sure that all the billing is handled properly. And our preorder period is limited to 5 weeks. We're starting on Thursday, and we'll end on Thursday. No long delays, no waiting for months, bing bam boom done!
We're using a new printing company here in the US, so we won't have the quality issues that book one suffered. And we won't have the shipping delays, either.
Finally, we're setting aside funds specifically to take care of anyone who has any problems with their order. If something goes wrong, we will be *able* to make it right. You guys have supported this comic for years, and we're here to do right by you.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
