MATRIX is a beautifully designed device that allows you to create and download home and business apps — giving you a gadget that can be used in many different ways at once. You control the MATRIX by speech, gesture, or its mobile app, and the MATRIX controls all your smart home and other IoT devices, like a hub. Possible uses for the MATRIX are only limited by the curiosity of global developers who use our sensors and libraries to reimagine how we interact with the physical world.
In roughly 7 lines of code, developers can build an app that interacts with the real world. Our engineers have created some quick videos for you to see how software and hardware aspects of the MATRIX prototype come together to allow full app creativity.

The MATRIX App Market is where all your Internet of Things applications live. You can browse apps by popularity, category, developer, and tags, among others. Also, IoT products with an open API can become an app available on the MATRIX Market.
// DEVELOPERS = IMPORTANT.NOTE: Our pioneering platform provides an amazing array of cutting-edge technologies that are opening up completely new categories of apps for Internet of Things. Similar to how the mobile app markets work, your IoT creations can bring incredible apps to your customers around the world. // scroll.way.down.4 ( 'developer preview' )
It is really easy to manage your Internet of Things needs using apps on the MATRIX. Intuitive dashboards pull information from various apps to help you see every important aspect of the physical space where your MATRIX lives.
Multiple MATRIX (Smart Clusters) can be used to enhance what you know about all your physical spaces. You manage your MATRIX devices and access apps via the MATRIX mobile app available on Android and iOS.
The MATRIX comes with three amazing IoT apps, which highlight key functions that our technology stack achieves now. The final versions of these apps are currently under development by our team. Multiple apps on the MATRIX can run at the same time.
In our Kickstarter video, you see the MATRIX at play. Let us take you through a few scenes to show you how sensors make awesome IoT apps.
As Patricia approaches the door, the MATRIX recognizes her using computer vision and facial recognition algorithms. She is able to unlock the door thanks to gesture recognition algorithms.
MATRIX recognizes Patricia as she walks through the door using facial recognition. It then interacts with other smart home devices.
Gesture recognition allows Patricia to turn her TV on with a simple motion.
Rafael and Isabella pay for their coffee with a smartphone by using the NFC sensor on the MATRIX.
Using computer vision, MATRIX picks up that Isabella has raised her hand and pings Mike, the waiter assigned to her table.
Isabella gives Panther coffee a 5-star customer satisfaction rating using gesture recognition on the MATRIX.
When Carlos removes the box from the rack, inventory is updated using computer vision algorithms and an integration to the product management system. With the camera sensor, Carlos lets the MATRIX know he loaded the specific box by barcode, at a certain time.
One MATRIX has unlimited applications. Multiple MATRIX can give you an unprecedented understanding of the spaces where you live and work.
First came the Internet, then came mobile, and now we have entered the age of the Internet of Things revolution. The problem is the Internet of Things landscape is messy and fragmented.
We created the MATRIX to make it easy for everyone to have the power of the Internet of Things in their hands, literally.
Developers of all skill levels bring life to the MATRIX through their IoT creations. Novice developers will be able to code IoT apps in under 7 lines of code and expert developers will create complex solutions for real-world problems.
The MATRIX is a platform that leverages Google V8 Javascript's engine via Node.js, which allows you to build and run applications simultaneously for the Internet of Things.
In roughly 7 lines of code, you can build an app that interacts with the real world. Weighing one or many of our fifteen sensors, deploy your app to MATRIX via simple terminal command — matrix deploy app and publish onto the platform with another.
The MATRIX OS can run multiple apps at the same time, which makes app building even more amazing. Someone can build a Text to Speech (TTS) app, and someone else can build a weather app. The weather app, can send an inter-app notification to the TTS app, and MATRIX will say the weather out loud if you ask it to.
We've done all the hard stuff for you. Using the MATRIX libraries you can build, and build fast.
You can get full control over your own MATRIX ecosystem via the MATRIX Command Line Interface. Push, pull, deploy, and update apps and sensors via the simple CLI.
Over the past 3 years, we have created complex Computer Vision technologies. We've made things like Face Detection, Gesture Detection, Face Recognition, and Blob Detection one line of code, and event-based, so you can trigger any event you want within the IoT apps you create.
We've added simplified Machine Learning algorithms that you can leverage in your applications, to make your IoT devices smarter. You can train it to learn your interactions, or on external stimuli outside of our platform via APIs.
Just want to play with sensor data? No problem. We've created an amazing data filtering language that interacts with all the sensors, and libraries we have available. So you can, for example, tell your MATRIX to turn the light off if the temperature goes above 80 degrees Fahrenheit ( 27 degrees Celsius ).
When you interface with the sensors on MATRIX OS, you'll be working with the clean, formatted data you'd like to see from the start. If you care to sift through the noise, we left that in there for you too at the toggle of a switch.
We've made the MATRIX OS robust and easy to use. Just set a data frequency on your sensor, and see it pop up on the dashboard as soon as you start deploying apps. Our infrastructure runs on the Google Cloud, and our team is constantly looking for ways to optimize performance. Your connection is encrypted via SSL over HTTPS from the initial set of communication, to the message you deliver to your apps, to the data sending to the dashboard. Data is stored in Google Cloud's infrastructure, in the availability zone of your region.
We've made our dashboards extremely simple to use. As a developer, you'll have the ability to easily configure intuitive dashboards and test them out in minutes for each app you develop. As a user, you can access your dashboards on a web browser or mobile phone and easily understand the real-time data you’re getting.
Our platform is currently Open Source. We feel that to grow, with the right direction, we need the feedback of the community. We <3 developers.
This is an animated exploded view of the MATRIX components. Not a physical MATRIX.
Rodolfo Saccoman, Chief Executive Officer, is a serial entrepreneur, on a quest to make sense and connect the physical to the online world. He graduated from Cornell University and earned an MBA from the University of Miami. He found his calling while leading technology innovation at The Breakers and then investments at Morgan Stanley. He appeared on the first season of ABC's "Shark Tank". Rodolfo believes the MATRIX could do to IoT what the smartphone achieved for mobile.
Brian Sanchez, Chief Technology Officer, studied mechanical engineering at Florida International University. He has acquired experience through roles at many companies such as 5DPI Multimedia, Decipher Labs, and Rokk3r Labs, where he currently serves as the Director of Engineering. As the AdMobilize CTO, Brian creates an environment that pushes innovation forward.
A little more than 18 months ago, we introduced our first IoT product: the AdBeacon. The process of creating and deploying this product worldwide was one of the reasons we created the MATRIX: one device, many applications. That experience provided our engineering team with a deep understanding and in-depth expertise on how to successfully create and develop complex IoT solutions; an evolution which prepared us to bring this IoT revolution.
With AdBeacon, we've kicked off an entirely new age in Computer Vision - now we look to carry that mission on with the MATRIX.
Since our launch, we've received some pretty cool press:
We are building for developers, makers, creators, and those who want to change the world. The ones that build and build fast, the early adopters who aren’t afraid, the tech enthusiasts who want the latest product, and everyone who still hasn’t experienced the Internet of Things and has a curiosity for it. We set out to build a platform that will create a revolution in the Internet of Things world.
The money we raise will primarily go toward tooling and final production/delivery. Additional use will go toward regulatory certification and, hopefully, fulfilling the most amazing stretch goals ever.
Upon being successfully funded, we would move from final prototype to full production of MATRIX units to be delivered by May 2016. This includes completion of the MATRIX Market for apps and the developer platform.
We are so excited to bring the MATRIX to the Kickstarter Community first!
We make it easy for you to the control data that your MATRIX collects. You’ll be able to turn on or off apps and sensors at any point via our mobile MATRIX app or online dashboard. This makes it easy to manage data securely across multiple applications.
Just one year ago, a group of 35 talented global creators part of AdMobilize--an early growth technology company-- put their heads together to develop the vision of “The Internet of Things for Everyone”. What lacks in the world today is a product that allows developers to easily create IoT applications. As a technology company, we pride ourselves on building beautifully designed hardware and agile software to solve these challenges.
We see a world where any IoT developer can build and deploy amazing applications for businesses and consumers very quickly. By building hardware with the ability to leverage thousands of combinations of sensors, there are unlimited possibilities. Once we saw the initial prototype, we knew it could be something special.
Now we are excited to share the final version of the MATRIX with the world, right here on Kickstarter.
Risques et défis
After eleven months working on stealth mode to create the most iconic Internet of Things device and platform, it is time to invite you, the Kickstarter community, to help us spread the word and make it to the finish line. We have an amazing team behind the MATRIX that has worked very hard to deliver it as promised. Our team has considered the following risks:
1) Manufacturing delays
We have accounted for any scenario in our heads to meet and surpass our delivery dates. We are a 110% committed to our product and we will deliver the highest quality device.
2) Changing components
MATRIX components have been carefully chosen for quality and performance. In the event that components might not become available in bulk for the quantities required, we may need to adjust to incorporate alternative components.
3) Materials for the lens
In our quest to achieve the desired effect of the MATRIX top lens we have discovered that some materials work better than others. Top design could change if we find a material that produces a better effect for the everloop (LED light ring).
