Hekate Ikon in Progress.
The Orphic Hymn to Hekate (draft)
Hekate Enodia, Trioditus most lovely,
We call to you now, oh Saffron-robed Lady.
You rule the heavens above and the black deeps below,
You skate across waves and flow with the seafoam.
Sorcerous soul, you dance with the dead
and the deer and the dogs who delight in your tread.
Persian One, Loner, Irresistible Queen,
You roar like a beast beneath the moon’s gleam,
Unarmed, yet unconquered, bull-drawn charioteer,
Holding the keys of the kosmos and the heavenly sphere.
You rule over the nymphs who haunt the high places,
Nurturing children with the charm of the Graces
We pray, hallowed maiden, as your incense we light,
That you indulge your initiates, and visit our rites.
