Have a question?
There certainly is. If any of my kickstarter backers would like a Steam copy of Power-Up Just drop me an email to email@example.com and I'll reply with a Steam key just for you. ;)
As you might have heard, I'm now working full time but I should be in the office from Wednesday next week and you should expect your reply around lunchtime or early evening before the week is out.
Is there a chance to receive Steam copy of game?
Lol. No probs Andre. Incidentally, if for any reason, anybody else didn't find their copy of Power-Up in their inbox, drop me a line and I'll fix that quicksharp. ;)
Ignore my post, I found you mail! Sorry for the inconvenience. I am going to play this awsome game tonight!
The game is on Desura now, but I haven't received any key yet. How sad for a backer! :-(
^_^ That would be awesome. I have friends with VMware and troubleshoot this problem just a bit more. Thanks! I voted! I hope greenlight happens soon.
Oh dear. Well at least we know that XNA games don't like VMWare. I'm guessing you don't have a PC bud... If that's the case, I'll be getting an iOS version out there later this year. Can I interest ya in a complimentary copy of that to make up?
I have no luck getting the game running on VMware fusion.
It's currently on the verge of a release on Steam. you can help to hurry ti along if you like though but voting "Yes" here.
Has the game been released? If so, how can I get my copy?! :D
Interesting one that. I got something similar when I tried to run Power-Up on my 6 year old laptop. Turns out the graphics card was too old for XNA to cope with. I have a feeling that with XNA baing a particularly Microsoft thing, there's probably some kind of clash going on with the Mac graphics card.
Have you had any luck getting it working since?
Mac book pro Retnia. 5100 Iris intel video card.
Does this game work with bootcamp?
I am trying to run the game in VMware fusion but I get the error:
No suitable graphics card found.
Could not find a Direct3D device that supports the XNA framework HiDef profile.
Verify that a suitable graphics device is installed.
Make sure the Desktop is not locked, and that no other application is running in full screen mode.
Avoid running under Remote Desktop or as a Windows Service.
Check the display properties to make sure hardware acceleration is set to Full.
Hey bud. Recieved and replied to. Man! Thanks so much for the piece in Metro. I really enjoyed that! :D
I've not met the walker yet but I do have the Jade Empress paint job so it's not for want of trying!
I just sent you an email with some feedback which you might find useful.
Brilliant!! Sounds like you're doing rather well James. Chuffed that you're getting into it! I know what you mean though, I was always a bit rubbish at shooters so I made Power-Up for about my skill level in the hopes that it might be a little more accessible to everybody.
Have you met the Walker yet?...
I've got the Candycane paint job and made it as far as the Cityplex level. It challenging but not frustrating, which is good as I'm not that good at 2D shumps.
Brilliant! Thanks James. Great to hear that you're enjoying the game and that it's proving to be a challenge. Balancing the difficulty is a very tricky thing but I'm glad to know it's paying off and you're pushing onward into the game. Unlocked any paintjobs yet?...
I got the PC version up and running. Really enjoying it so far, I've only reached the second boss (on medium difficulty) but the game plays really well.
Congratulations on a successful Kickstarter project.
We'll see that in a PM.
Thanks Alexandre. Glad you enjoyed it bud.
...and as for translations, I'll be looking into that if PowerUp makes me enough for it to be worthwhile. Looks like it'll be a while before Microsoft pay up tho. ;)
I just bought the game on XBox 360. What a blast! I war far above my expectations and I had an incredibly funny time with it. Thank you! I can't wait for the PC version.
I rehiterate my proposition to translate the game in French (I can do it in Japanese too).
(*in them even). ;)
Check out those weekly Update Videos for the specifics, but yep. PowerUp finally passed Microsoft's peer testing process and will be hitting XBLIG on September 13th.
After that, the PC version is on track for late November, but if anything changes there I'll be sure to let you know if those weekly Video Updates.
Hello. So, we didn't see the game in August. Think it will be out by September? October?
Hiya, Looking good for that deadline. The really tricky bit is getting the PC-coded PowerUp ported to Xbox by late August, but I'm firing on all cylinders to get it done, then I'll focus on optimising the controls for PC too, which shouldn't take long. :)
How is the schedule going? are you on track to finish Nov 13?
Cheers guys. Currently doing my best to make PowerUp as great as it can be. :)
Still waiting for a SHMUP of my dreams. Good luck!
Let's have a European SHMUP Renaissance! Congratulations!
Congratulations Mike - we knew you could do it. Now let's make this game the best SHMUP ever!!
Eeeeeeey!!! Thanks very much guys. Can't believe I'm actually awake and it's all really happenning... but I am..... and it is!!
Right! Time to get over myself and grab some breakkie before I crack on with the day eh.
Thanks again for all the help guys.
Happy Birthday Mike...I'd forgotten you'd mentioned this with all that was going on. Have a drink on me, as they say.
Woooo! Well done man!
Well done Mike. Hard work actually pays off. :)
Whooooohooooo! Go Mike! Happy Birthday :D
Nice to be stunned like that :) I'm made up for you man...well deserved.
Eric, Thanks so much man. Much appreciated, and I'm chuffed to have been your first Kickstart. :D
Thanks Pavel. Quite a few languages totting up now... You know, if It proves not to be worth my while in the immediate future with PowerUp, I still might consider it later down the line.
Antony! brilliant eh! To be honest, I'm actually rather stunned... In a good way, of course. :D
Better get those extra Weapon-F paint-jobs polished up eh. ;)
Yeah! The 7K stretch goal has been achieved :)
About translations, if you decide to implement them, I could translate this game in Russian.
Just pledged 7 pounds! This is my first time backing a project. I look forward to the game Mike! Good luck and keep us updated :)
...man, I should really proof read before I send. :P
Good question Frederic. Unfortunatelt, the only version I've got control over the distribution of is the PC version (everyone else does it through digital downloads on their store) so I'm only able to add the PC one to the award tiers.
That said, it looks like we've hit the iOS and Android versions' stretch goals so all being well when the campaign ends, those versions will definitely be coming in the not too distant. Don't worry though. I'm going to try and keep the price around the £2 mark across all versions of the game.
Congrats! Game looks great!
I don't have an Xbox and don't plan on getting one, so I'll be waiting for the PC version. By that, you mean Windows, or also Linux? Regardless, either/both is good.
What I'm really stoked about is the mobile (Android) version. But I noticed there's no pledge level(s) for it. Does that mean all backers get it, or am I being daft?
Lol. I should probably allow you a reduction at least. ;)
Only joking btw
Can I have my money back then ?
Cheers Dave. There were some impressive SHMUPS on the PC-Engine. I'll try to do them some justice eh. ;)
Lol. Thanks chris. I'm really a Scouser, but I've been down here for a years now. ;)
Good luck, you must be dead chuffed you've hit your targets. My first kickstarter pledge, based on the fact your from Stoke! Fingers crossed for massive success!
Game looks cool, I miss shoot em ups, used to have a PC Engine
