RAISE THE RHYTHM (RTR) is a one of a kind charity event that combines music, fashion and dance in one evening. In its first two years of production, RTR sold out each show and raised over $15,000 for Canadian charities. RTR has featured many up-and-coming artists including So You Think You Can Dance Canada winner Jordan Clark, Conteur Dance Company, Coca-Cola’s Covers finalist Andres Sierra as well as fashion designers Whitney Linen and Arnaldo Santos.
At RTR, our mission is to influence others to use their passions and bring awareness to what really matters in the world. This year, RTR plans to raise more money and bring more Canadian talents to its stage.
This year, RTR will be taking place on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at The Danforth Music Hall in support of the Panov Program.

RTR 2014 will be raising money and awareness for The Panov Program - Precision Chemotherapy for Sarcoma Cancer Research at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto. Sarcoma accounts for more than 15% of all Children’s Cancers. Sarcoma attacks the body’s tissues causing tumours within muscles, bones, nerves, fat and blood vessels. One of the most recognized names in Canadian history, Terry Fox, suffered from Sarcoma, taking first his leg and then his life.
Precision Chemotherapy is designed to greatly improve a cancer patient’s odds. A novel process, Precision Chemotherapy aims to increase a patient’s chance of survival by growing human tumours in mice and testing them with targeted chemotherapies. This innovative technology helps oncologists identify the best treatment options available for each genetically unique individual.
This year, RTR plans to raise $20,000 for The Panov Program.

Risks and challenges
At RTR, our goal is to have all money raised from ticket sales go to our charity of choice. Since our beginnings in 2012, we have been able to accomplish this goal giving 100% of ticket sales to each year's charity.
A setback we have had in the past are post show fees from our venue. This can happen with a show of this nature. With our business and marketing experience, we were able to account for these hidden costs by budgeting prior to our show.
RTR 2014 is set to be twice as big as last year and four times bigger than the year before. As it can be expensive putting on a show of this magnitude, we need financial help from sponsors to ensure that this goal is reached and our show is a success. If we are lucky enough to surpass our funding goals, we hope to compensate our artists in some capacity for their time and talents.
