Dear Friends and Supporters,

As always, thank you for being part of our film team!

Good news to share with you: Our film, If, was accepted into the competitive IFP Film Week Spotlight on Documentaries in September

This is a great opportunity to meet with producers and distributors.

In the last week, our backers have increased to over 100. The film team is growing!

We are heading into our final week, but still have $5800 to raise, so please continue to share the word.

And finally – events are moving quickly now, so we were in Cairo last week working on the documentary.

Protesters have reoccupied Tahrir Square for the past three weeks, and more than 100 are on hunger strike. Shima’a participated in a protest march last week to draw attention to the military detention and trials of protesters, bloggers and soldiers. Some have been given sentences from 5-10 years for participating in the revolution. The protesters were attacked by armed thugs on Saturday and approximately 200 were injured, but thankfully Shima’a was not injured.

Below is a photo of Shima'a during the protest march engaging with passers-by.

Thanks again for your continued interest and support in our film!
