About this project
It's time for the Dread Wedding! You are all invited!
Thanks to you, our amazing backers, ALL Stretch Goals were unlocked. You assembled the Tashmere family, unearthed Eldritch Tales, and discovered Dark Secrets. You have expanded the Dread House to around 150 pages, and the Large Floor Tile Pack to 95. Those of us working behind the scenes to bring this project to you are honored and humbled by your generosity. Thank you so much. - Danny
You reach the grounds as storm clouds slip across the moon, darkening the yard. You make your way carefully to the front door but find it barred from the outside. It would take a crowbar and some muscle to get in this way. The windows are high off the ground but seem breakable. You test your theory with a large rock, and the glass shatters as the first bolt of lightning slashes across the sky. You climb up and through the broken pane, carefully turning and lowering yourself to the floor of the room inside. The townsfolk may be afraid of this place buy you aren’t.
“Good Evening” says a deep strong voice that makes you whirl with shock. Your eyes search the darkness but you see nothing. A flash of lightning verifies to your eyes that you are alone.
“I trust you will be staying?” says the voice. “Excellent, it’s been a long time since we’ve had company.” Lightning flashes again. The drawing room is empty of everything but old furniture. You turn and scramble to the window, ready to leap through it and to the ground below. But the window isn’t broken any more. Somehow it’s healed.
You stop to puzzle this impossibility for the briefest of moments. That’s all it takes. The voice in the darkness gets you, and nobody hears you scream. You should have listened to the townsfolk. You should have come better prepared…for The Dread House.
Ghostly RPG Adventures in a Haunted Mansion of Epic Proportions. Fully realized with floor tiles, miniatures, terrain, and music.
Immerse Yourself In the Dread House!
Music: A haunting melody by German composers Erdenstern sets the mood for this epic adventure. The suite is inspired by the Dread Wedding. It is provided free to all backers who pledge $10 or more.
Fiction: Ghost stories by professional authors Kevin Andrew Murphy and Richard Lee Byers allow GMs to enjoy the backstory of key adventures in a fun way. These "Ghost Stories" can be enjoyed by players after the adventure concludes.
GM Screen: A custom version of The World's Greatest Screen - Mini. This vinyl 12 pocket screen comes with 12 4" x 6" cards that have game stats on one side and spooky art on the other. Customize your screen to set the mood for your players.
Floor Tiles: Presented in two sizes, the small pack and the large pack, this accessory allows the GM to BUILD THE HOUSE AS THE PLAYERS EXPLORE IT! When combined with miniatures from this Kickstarter, it amplifies the game experience. NOTE: reward Tiers only contain the SMALL Floor Tile Pack. To upgrade to the LARGE, please add-on $10 to any Tier that rewards the SMALL pack. You can add EITHER pack to any pledge level as an add-on.
The Dread Wedding Adventure Pack: Up your game with this collection of 28mm miniatures. These 8 miniatures are specific to the Dread Wedding storyline, which is the primary adventure in the book. NPCs, villains, and terrain all enhance the experience. When the Kickstarter begins, 4 of the figures are revealed, and 4 are hidden by doors. Stretch goals reveal those hidden figures.
Dread House Add-On Packs: Master the table and wow your players with this collection of Gothic furnishings packaged in easy-to-buy room packs. All pieces are cast in white resin, are unpainted, and can be used as-is (minor assembly required on a few pieces).
Stretch Goals are represented by Story Packs. When a new story pack is earned, everybody gets new stuff!
Each story pack adds two new adventures to the book (thus increasing it's page count). Sometimes a story pack will introduce a new Ghost Story by one of our fiction authors. Every story pack introduces new tiles which are added *as a bonus* to the Large Floor Tile Pack.
Perhaps most exciting, stretch goals can upgrade miniatures in the Dread House Adventure Pack, the Eldritch Tales Adventure Pack, and the Dark Secrets Adventure Pack, replacing doors with new monsters, NPCs, or terrain pieces!
There are 7 pre-planned stretch goals for this project. If all are completed The Dread Wedding Adventure Pack will contain 8 unique figures specific to that adventure, and the large Floor Tile Pack will contain about 100 pages of tiles!
All items below can be added on to any reward tier. Note that prices do not reflect freight, which will be handled through BackerKit.

Wave 1 - The Halloween Party Pack: as soon as the Kickstarter ends, backers will be able to download a PDF pack of rewards designed to get them into the the Dread House in time for Halloween! The final contents of the pack will be determined by the end of the Kickstarter campaign. It will *at least* include party invitations, The Dread Wedding Lay by Erdenstern, and a short adventure playable with Pathfinder, 5th edition, and/or Call of Cthulhu.
Wave 2 - Book and Tiles: all paper products will ship together as soon as the book is complete. Book, tiles, mini screen, and inserts will ship in the same package in early 2017.
Wave 3 - Miniatures: since minis take time to develop, they will all ship together when completed. European customers will be given the option to ship Wave 2 and 3 together to save on freight. These will most likely ship in spring 2017.
Traveling in remote territory in late fall, the characters find themselves in the sleepy town of Sorenton. There they discover that a curse has been plaguing the people of the town for decades. The towns liege lord and protector Jazef Tashmere was long ago destroyed by his old enemies, the Dread Lords. Kaseh Tashmere, the manor in which Tashmere’s family lived for generations is now cursed and haunted. It has come to be known as the Dread House.
The group learns that the house fell on the night before the wedding of Tashmere's eldest daughter. A curse was placed upon the home, and as a result, a dark storm falls upon Sorenton each year during the Festival of the Dead. The PCs will be asked to help rid the town of that curse. Radeg, captain of the town guard is just one such soul that will attempt to guide them to the grounds where they will face many supernatural dangers.
When they enter The Dread House, the group will face its curse head on. Trapped between earth and hell, the house hosts hundreds of ghosts, held there by a demon spirit known only as the Pumpkin Man. Every year, these ghosts pantomime the wedding they never attended, hoping for the day that someone will break their curse and set them free.
The group will explore the house and uncover its mysteries. They will ultimately do battle with the The Pumpkin Man, the chaotic dark servant of the Dread Lords. Aided by the ghosts of Jazef Tashmere and his daughter Chrissy, the players will seek to break the curse, lay the trapped souls to rest, and return The Dread House to the people of Sorenton.
Whether or not they succeed is completely up to you, the Pumpkin Man, and all the restless spirits...in The Dread House.

Risks and challenges
There are risks in every project but we've taken steps to reduce them as much as possible. The Dread House is protected from project creep, and the bulk of the project is complete at this time. Backer options were kept simple and functional. Software advances allow for easier order fulfillment, address changes, and add-ons. Staggered shipping of rewards will mitigate the waiting period associated with some of the components of the project.
Despite these preparations, small projects like this one are vulnerable to life circumstances. The Grande Temple of Jing was plagued by so many of them that at times, it seemed that Jing himself was toying with us. We don't really believe that, but just in case, for this project - we sprinkled salt around the outside of the house, put a priest on retainer, and sacrificed a rubber chicken. Y'know, just in case...Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
