I started out in the cosmetic field as a licensed Aesthetician and a trained rehabilitation makeup artist working with my mother Linda Seidel, covering burns, scars, birthmarks, etc. I am an artist, a painter, so I knew there was something else, something different and creative that I was supposed to be doing in addition to my makeup skills. This is when I realized Body Painting was it!
My Kickstarter project is a 10.5 x 10.5 hard back case bound colorful coffee table book, entitled, "COVERED, A Body of Work by Jen Seidel."
The layout for the book stands at 100% completion and is ready for printing. My book itself is 2 years in the making, so you can imagine the time and effort that has gone into making this book as beautiful as the models featured in it's contents. I have been Body Painting for 8 years and the book features local models, photographers, businesses and organizations, all of which who have benefited from these Painted Bodies of Art that I have created, thus far. Over the years, I have painted for children's charities, breast cancer, sports fundraisers, military events and companies and organizations of all kinds. This book includes my story from the very beginning, the struggle that fighting for my art to be accepted has been, and what it has evolved to today. I believe that you will find the colorful imagery visually captivating, while feeling inspired by the projects themselves, and the story that has gone with it.
I want this project to be completed with the utmost detail and care in order to bring to you a book of true quality. However, quality, when it comes to building a beautiful book of art that is case bound, hard back, and filled with visual art, cover to cover, meticulously, does come at a high cost. The costs of hiring a writer, a graphic designer to perform the task of laying out the book, the printing and shipping of the book itself and the marketing and advertising costs are immense. This Kickstarter campaign will allow me to build a book the way it should be built, treating it to every bit attention to detail and care that I give to the art itself.
My goal is to inspire and involve as many people and entities as possible with this book and with my art. I want to use my gift of art to its maximum capabilities. I certainly want to make everyone proud of me and what I have worked so hard to accomplish. I would love to see this old fashioned coffee table style book on the coffee tables of every living room in this world. This art must be seen. This is where I need YOUR help. You guys have stood behind me from the beginning. Please stand behind me now. Please take a look at my rewards and see how you can become a part of this special, unique project and help bring it to life!
Risks and challenges
As far as fulfillment risks and challenges, there is always the possibility of a short delay in fulfillment of books due to issues with printing or shipping. The delay in the books would naturally cause a delay in any other rewards such as invitations to book signing parties because these rewards are, of course, based on completion of the printing of the book. However, we believe that our team of seasoned professionals has taken measures to plan this project out to the last detail. We have carefully planned every aspect of this project, to ensure a smooth process in regard to printing, shipping, ordering and confirmation, and fulfillment to our buyers. We have built a simplistic, easy to navigate website completely dedicated to the purchase of the book, "Covered, A Body of Work by Jen Seidel," and we have performed multiple test runs to ensure smooth operation from purchasing to fulfillment. The site is www.JenSeidelCovered.com. The site is now only waiting for books.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
