It's history. Just way more SUPER!
That sums up the Hall of Heroes Superhero Museum and its mission to share the world of superheroes, comic books and the collectibles and media everyone enjoys. Since opening in 2007, our collection has grown to include over 65,000 comics, over 10,000 toys and games, and over 100 pieces of animation and comic art. Our Hollywood section features an original shield used in Captain America: The First Avenger, a screen used Green Lantern ring worn by Ryan Reynolds, William Katt's Greatest American Hero Costume and Adam West’s personal 1966 Batman costume. And with the more recent additions of the Shelby Cobra from Iron-Man and the Hell Cycle from Ghost Rider... we have run out of space!
Our 3,000 square foot space was never built to house large items like Shelby Cobras, but we want to add more - like a 1966 Batmobile. In order to do that, we need to relocate to a larger space that is also easier to find for tourists passing through northern Indiana. We need your help to make the move and cover impending remodeling costs at our new location which will be located near the 80/90 toll road exit in our hometown of Elkhart, Indiana. We appreciate and need your support to help us Preserve Comic Book History!!!
Our upgraded facility will house such amenities as...
- Batman-themed escape room
- Expanded gift shop
- Superhero arcade games
- Birthday party space
- Much needed space to properly display the collection and allow it to grow for years to come.
Pledge rewards will range from advanced admission to the new location, VIP experiences at the 2018 Elkhart Comic Con, and more. Here is a closer look at some of our rewards.

About the Hall of Heroes Superhero Museum -
The Hall of Heroes Super Hero Museum is a breathtaking trip through 75+ years of super hero history in comics, toys, film and animation that makes everyone that enters feel like a kid again. Founded in 2007 in Elkhart, Indiana, our museum preserves one of the largest super hero memorabilia collections in the world featuring:
10,000+ historic toys, action figures and statues with some dating back to 1939!
- 60,000+ comic books from 1940 to today’s best sellers including many key books on display
- 100+ original comic book pages and animation cels
- Movie and entertainment memorabilia ranging from Adam West’s personal 1966 Batman Costume, the shield used by Chris Evans in the film Captain America: The First Avenger, and screen-used vehicles from Iron Man and Ghost Rider and much more!
We value civic involvement on both local and national levels. You may have heard about the first big comic con event held in downtown Elkhart in March, 2017. We were proud to be the key facilitator in the inaugural Elkhart Comic Con. With 5,000 people planned to attend, that number was smashed with over 10,000 people attending the show that weekend. We feel the event truly demonstrates the interest in our community for pop culture subject matter. Some of our local community initiatives include… Co-sponsorship CAPS (Child and Parent Services) 5k walk/run, Heroes For Hospice 5k walk/run Superhero, appearances in the Memorial Day parade, area schools & hospitals library reading program, fund raising, and discounted admission for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other area programs.
Four national television shows have come to feature our museum and Elkhart County on the national stage recently with shows like Personal FX The Collectible Show, Stan Lee’s Super Fans, The Toy Hunter and Fast N Loud. We are currently working with an established television producer on our own reality show that could put Elkhart on the national stage on a weekly basis.
The Hall of Heroes Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our hard-working board of directors and volunteers have helped us grow into an international attraction. We bring people from all over the world with over 10,000 visitors per year.
Risks and challenges
We have a few possible locations picked out but need your support to raise money for the move and renovations that will include a Batman 66 Bat Cave set in the new location and much more. We may have some possible delays due to renovation that may delay the opening but we are targeting August-September 2018. Passes and Memberships may also be used at our current facility.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
