The Better Half is a new Lucky Plush Productions dance-theater work co-created by Julia Rhoads (Artistic Director of Lucky Plush) and Leslie Buxbaum Danzig (co-founder of 500 Clown) in collaboration with the ensemble, featuring Rhoads, Adrian Danzig, Kim Goldman, Tim Heck and Meghann Wilkinson.  The production includes Composer/Sound Designer Mikhail Fiksel, Lighting Designer Heather Gilbert, and Stage Manager Clare Roche.  The full production premieres at the MCA October 27 - November 6, 2011.

This highly anticipated collaboration is a contemporary spin-off of the psychological thriller Gaslight, the classic melodrama in which a woman is manipulated by her husband into believing she is insane while he searches for a treasure related to a murder he committed years earlier. Rather than adhering strictly to the source narrative, layers of fiction and reality accumulate in The Better Half revealing the elusive boundaries between self and character, actual and scripted relationships, life versus borrowed plotlines.

We'd love to share our work thus far with you and hear your feedback!

All my best,

Julia
