Friar Tucks has been building its way up in the world for the last 3 years. The concept began of nothing but a love for good food, and a desire to share it with people. The ultimate goal for us since the start has been to open a food truck, and now that prospect is coming to fruition.
For the last two years Robb and I (Abby) have been working not only day jobs, but catering, and working out of the local Renaissance festival with the help of our partner James. We have been building a following, and getting our name heard while trying to raise money and perfect our products for the next step. At this point people know us for having fresh, delicious and creative sandwiches, burgers, and tater tot dishes. The out-pour of support from people who have eaten with us has been unbelievable and so humbling.
We want to bring something positive to the world, we want people to try something different, and delicious. Being able to offer our menu out of a food truck is the ideal way for us to do that, and we are finally able to. We purchased a 1973 Airstream trailer that is going to be perfect for our needs, and absolutely eye catching. Our biggest hurdle right now is how we can transport it.We're so close to completion, but we need to get a new hood/exhaust, and air conditioner, which is running to 2000.00 alone. :(
Here is what we serve:
§ Garlick Parmesan – Tossed with olive oil, fresh garlic, and grated Parmesan.
§ Cheesy Tots – Slathered with nacho cheese.
§ Loaded Baked P’Tater – Cheese, sour cream, green onions, and bacon.
§ Curry Tots – Served with our Vermont Apple Curry
§ Taco Tots – Tossed in taco seasoning, and served with sour cream for dipping.
§ Totchos - Nachos for a new generation. Covered in nacho cheese, tomatoes, green onions, jalapenos, and sour cream.
§ Buffalo Tots – Tossed in creamy buffalo sauce and sprinkled with bacon, ranch, and bleu cheese.
§ Default – Tis a burger. You eat it! 1/3 lb grass fed cheeseburger on a toasted bun.
§ Meatball – Mama’s meatballs, lovingly smashed, served on toasted garlic buns, and topped with homemade bruschetta.
§ Vandross – Scientifically developed to tantalize your taste buds. Our famous default burger, served on a toasted Krispy Kreme doughnut.
§ Buffalo Chicken Burger – Delivers the bold taste of buffalo wings, without the mess. Available in mild, medium, or hot.
§ Mac-n-Cheeseburger – Creamy, homemade macaroni and cheese take up residence atop our world famous Default burger.
§ Dragon’s Breath – After consuming this, you’ll think you can breath fire. Jalapeno burger, topped with Jalapeno jack cheese, and our Awesome Sauce.
§ Turkey Terrific - Every year, mom would slave over a hot stove and prepare a fantastic Thanksgiving Day feast. We didn’t have the heart to tell her that we looked forward to the sandwiches more. Fresh roasted turkey, and our signature Cranberry Bog sauce, served on thick toasted bread.
§ Cottage - Seasoned beef, with cooked veggies and MASHED POTATOES on garlic toast.
§ Paradise by the Dashboard Light - We uncovered a vintage 1984 family meatloaf recipe and turned it into the best meatloaf sandwich you could ever have. With just the right amount of ketchupy goodness.
