Update:4/9/2014 - Funding level has been reached! For every pledge over $25 I am now including an original, one of a kind, hand drawn and painted bunny rabbit as a thank you!
Hello, my name is Nakisha, I'm a Seattle artist who has created several tarot decks, including the Badger's Forest Tarot, which was successfully funded on Kickstarter last year. I created my very first tarot deck in 2009, the Rabbit Tarot, and it remains my best selling and most popular of all my tarot decks.
I am almost sold out of the Second Edition of this deck, and have created this Kickstarter to fund a third printing. The funds generated by this Kickstarter would allow me to purchase the decks in bulk, and continue to offer them to the public at the same price as the Second Edition.
The Rabbit Tarot features the Little White Rabbit and the Dutch (black and white) Rabbit. Instead of pentacles there are daisies, instead of swords there are carrots, tulips are cups and sticks are clubs.
This unique tarot deck is appropriate for all ages, especially those who collect tarot cards, rabbit fanciers, art collectors and the young at heart.
The Rabbit Tarot consists of 78 unique images, including the classic 22 Major Arcana and the 56 Minor Arcana, all reimagined into the world of the Little White Rabbit. These cards are the size of Poker playing cards (2.5" x 3.5" or 6.25 x 8.75cm).
The new Third Edition will have several minor changes from the Second Edition, including a printed document of the basic descriptions included in the box. The box itself will be larger to accommodate the descriptions, as well as being shrink wrapped. The color and clarity of the cards is also clearer, more consistent and closer to the original artwork created for the deck. They will be printed in the USA.
Should I exceed my goal for this Kickstarter, the money will go towards a larger bulk purchase of the Third Edition to help keep the deck available well into the future.
Risks and challenges
I have printed a proof copy of the tarot deck, so I know that the quality and the finished project will be good. The printing time is estimated, as it varies depending on how much work is currently at the printers before my order goes in, but I have worked with this company before and I am confidant that the turn around should be no more than two months. In addition, I have been shipping artwork for over 20 years and on average I ship 10- 30 orders a week from my Etsy shops all over the world. I believe in open and honest communication with my customers, and I will do the same with my backers here on Kickstarter. Should any hiccup arise I will be quick to assess the situation and let everyone know.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
