About this project
This project seeks to launch the Queen City Racer Jacket into production. The funds raised through kickstarter and your pre-order of one of the pledge levels to the right, will be used to pay for the raw materials and labor required to manufacture the jacket in Vermont.
QUEEN CITY DRY GOODS was launched in 2011 in Burlington, Vermont with a mission to design and manufacture artisan quality apparel and gear in the USA from natural fiber materials: cotton, wool and leather.
The Queen City Racer jacket is a modern take on the classic cafe style moto racer jacket that can serve as both a riding jacket and a really functional good looking everyday men's jacket. It is constructed of heavy, durable waxed twill canvas. Waxed canvas is a remarkable fabric. The wax finish causes water to bead up and roll off the material. The lining is 100% US virgin wool and the zippers are made from antiqued solid brass. These great materials are brought together to form a garment with a superb fit. It is tailored to allow for a fitted, stylish cut, but has just the right amount of ease to still be comfortable. The shoulder gussets help to achieve this, and the sleeve zips allow for a fitted cuff that can be easily expanded to fit your hand through.
Jacket fits chest measurements: S34-37 M38-41 L42-45 XL46-49 XXL50-53. Jacket sleeves measure: S36 M37 L38 XL39 XXL40 (measured from center of back at the base of the collar to the should seam/armhole seam and down to the bottom of the sleeve, passing over the elbow)

Closing in on the funding goal!
Update #1 · Aug. 10, 2012 ·
The Queen City Racer Jacket project is on a great path to reaching it's goal!! I want to offer a sincere thank you to everybody that has supported the project, and helped to spread the word. I am working with a Vermont factory to help me with the manufacturing and we are very pleased to be working together to keep people employed and cultivate a vibrant sewing industry in Vermont. I'll be visiting the factory next week and plan to post some video of the operation soon.
I recently published a gallery of photos that exhibit some of the work I've done over the years. Some of these products were prototypes for other companies, and some for my own. Check out the gallery:
Queen City is very excited to announce a new project to offer a Vermont made T shirt!! I made the first shirt this week and it came out great. I will start with a unisex size run in 3 or 4 colors. More information to come soon.
Stay tuned, and please help to spread the word about the Queen City Race Jacket project on Kickstarter by posting a link to facebook, tweeting, or just good old fashioned word of mouth.
UPDATE 2 (Video):
First of all thanks you to everybody for your support on the racer jacket project! It looks like we will meet the pledge goal soon!. In the mean time I've been busy getting everything lined up to start producing the jackets, bags and wallets. I met with Joel over at St J Stitching yesterday to work through some of the details and took some video with my little point and shoot to share with everybody. You can see us cutting some knit jersey material that will made into t shirts next week for the recently announced Queen City Dry Goods Vermont made t shirt line. Check out my little amateur video, and please help continue to spread the word about the Queen City Dry Goods kickstarter project by posting about it on facebook, twitter and other social media outlets, and thanks again.
Special thanks to Ryan Ober, Annemarie Furey, Silas Miller, Sue Weed, Scott Hardy, Doug Rumbough, Eric Heikel, Jess Anderson, Joel Howard and all my fantastic interns, and Rose.
