About this project
What is Archer Alec?
Archer Alec is a castle defense game where you play as Alec and defend the castle for as long as you can. The game includes a shop system where you can use gold, obtained from killing monsters, to buy items like traps/walls/and bow upgrades.
Why does Archer Alec need funding?
I've been able to work on Archer Alec for about a year now because I was a student and had a part time Job. Right now due to financial problems I’m going to have to get a full time Job/halt the development of Archer Alec until much later unless this gets funded.
Archer Alec needs funding for a few reasons.
- Paying for Music(all of it)
- Website hosting
With funding I will be able to complete Archer Alec sometime in March - early April!
Archer Alec currently
Archer Alec if Funded
- 5 Biomes
- 13-16 Monsters
- 11-15 Traps
What All Backers that give $3 or more get!
Right now all backers will get a special option in Archer Alec to turn his tunic into gold! I will be taking suggestions from the community as to what you guys want added in this special version of the game.
With everyone's help together we will be able to make Archer Alec a finished game!
Also if you like the music check out Phillips website/s
Risks and challenges
1. Creativity in new monsters and traps
2. Feature creep (Adding more and more unnecessary features)
1- I have been getting feedback from the community at GameDev.net for the past 4 months now. Through that feedback I was able to create new Traps, and make the monsters in the game more engaging. I want Archer Alec to be what the community wants it to be while still keeping it within scope.
2- I am guilty of wanting to add 'this n that' new features to the game that I think at the time may be cool. But I have gotten past that, I learnt that succumbing to the 'feature creep' will postpone the entire development process.
I know what I want Archer Alec to be, it is clear to me now and I will complete it.
