Who built those gigantic stones in the middle of an open field? There is a theory that Stonehenge was once an observatory that predicted the summer solstice by the orientation of its stones. Humans also seek sheer happiness from the very act of stacking up pieces, and we know that from our childhood experience of building blocks.
Stonehenge vividly manifests in its erection and collapse the governing law of this planet: gravity. It is due to gravity, that we can perceive the difficulty of accumulating such gigantic stones and realizing such an enterprise. Stonehenge is truly “the masterpiece of building blocks,” or more precisely “the masterpiece of building stones” which continues to challenge us with its very presence to this day. What in the world inspired humankind to create and stack such gigantic stones?
“Stonehenge and the Sun” is a tabletop game with the theme of accumulation and gravity. In order to win, you must keep control of the gravity. What will the final forms of Stonehenge be at the end of the game? Play Stonehenge and the Sun and fascinate yourself with gravity.
"Stonehenge and the Sun” is a game where you can enjoy the physical presence of gravity. The defining feature of the game “a metal ball hanging from the ceiling” is a characteristic that is unprecedented in the tabletop game world. To bring this game concept into realization is the goal of our campaign. Thank you so much for your attention and support.
* Tools to hang the metal ball from the ceiling will be included in the box, but the set up for the game has to be done by the players themselves. We appreciate your understanding.

The main feature of the game is the metal ball which represents the sun in the game. It has been specially manufactured for this game with designated size and weight.
We have been often asked, “How do you hang the metal ball from the ceiling?” There are three types of hooks that will be included in the box to help you handle the setup. Please apply whichever method is most suitable for your home.
1.) Adhesive Sticker Hook
The easiest way to hang the metal ball is by using the “adhesive hook.” You can attach it on your ceiling (it can tolerate a little bit of roughness on the surface) and then detach without damaging the surface. It can hold the weight of the metal ball which is around 65 grams.
2.) Cup Hook
If your ceiling is wooden and a nail would be applicable, we recommend using the cup hook. It can sustain a longer period of use with stability.
3.) S Hook
You can use the S hook to tie the string to and hang on a lighting fixture or a pole, or anything above your head which you might find fit to use it on.
You might also find this tool useful in the event the ceiling attachment methods do not work in your home = Tripod Boom Microphone Stand (We will not include this in the game box. Please purchase from local stores.)
Disclaimer: Please note that we do not take any responsibility or liability in case of an accident or property damage during set up and use of the metal ball. Also, due to the inclusion of the metal ball in the game, we set the suitable age level of this game to above 14 years old. Thank you for your understanding.
We first showcased this game in "Is This a Game? — Rule Design the World" exhibition held in Tokyo this past June. The exhibition's concept was to study and experiment with games and game rules, and we as itten, participated in the event with four pieces of work featuring historical relics. One of the works we exhibited there was the original of Stonehenge and the Sun.
Although there were only a few rules for it at the time of the exhibition, the game immediately caught the attention of the visitors and was enjoyed by many who stopped by. Some even asked about its possible publication in the future, and it made us pause for a thought. "Maybe through a crowdfunding campaign, we might be able to turn this game into an actual publication." Despite some extraordinary aspects in the designs of the game, we saw hope in publishing it as a new title in our lineup of games. So here we are in this Kickstarter campaign in support of Stonehenge and the Sun.
While we feel the difficulty in realizing the publication of a game with such challenging components, it has been a fulfilling work to design it "anew" in a way that the game is not only interesting in how it looks but also worthy for play as a game (as well as easy to set up!). We hope that you will, together with us hold a tangible copy next year and enjoy this extraordinary game for yourselves.

"If you want to experience the cutting edge of where tabletop games are, look no further! I consider itten my top competition when it comes to beautiful tangible experiences, you won’t be disappointed with Stonehenge and the Sun."
-Jordan Draper from Jordan Draper Games
"Stonehenge and the Sun is wildly different from any game I've played. It's ambitious and a little silly, sure, but it's a great example of the bold direction that some board games are headed in (and more games should consider!). I'd highly recommend checking it out."
-Eric from What's Eric Playing
"Playing "Stonehenge and the Sun" reminds me of my youth when my brother and I turned every experience that we could into a game. Yes, you're playing a game — but you're also just...playing, as in playing with toys or fooling around with found objects. With this design, and other itten titles such as Tokyo Highway and Here Comes the Dog, you start looking at every object surrounding you and wondering how it can be incorporated into a game. Don't be surprised, though, to discover that itten has already done this ahead of you!

Risks and challenges
We have already printed multiple prototypes of the game and from these, we learned that most of our production plans are feasible at its pre-production stage. We have taken these for demo-play in several gaming conventions (Tokyo, Essen, and Pax in Philadelphia) which gave us new insights into how we could improve the details of the design and ease of play including the setup.
We have reflected these improvements in our current Kickstarter version of the game and we will continue to cover aspects you might suggest or we might notice that would improve any element of the game. We have a solid plan for mass production with a trusted manufacturing partner with whom we have already mass produced some of the difficult components in the game.
Last but not least, we are an experienced publisher with a track record of designing and publishing more than six titles so far including Tokyo Highway (http://www.itten-games.com/th4p/), our major title now being distributed globally through Asmodee. Many of our games involve difficult wooden components and as we've been through many of them, we are quite experienced in their handling (see our titles here http://www.itten-games.com/). We hope that you will feel safe about backing us for this project.
