UPDATE 3/29: STRETCH REWARDS UNLOCKED! See below for details on pocket tool add-ons.
We are Chris and Sarah Schnelle, entrepreneurs from West Chester, OH. We own a small business designing and manufacturing pocket tools, but we're mixing things up a little with this project...
Are you tired of carrying pocket tools that offer you no more fun than opening a bottle? So were we. We asked ourselves what tool would offer the most fun we could build into a pocket-sized package, and we came up with one answer: a slingshot! As with our other tools, we've designed this new line of micro slingshot frames so that no matter where you go, you'll be prepared ... for fun!
So what is a pocket slingshot?
We designed these frames to offer the functionality of a full-sized slingshot but without the bulky Y-frame or wrist brace of traditional designs. These frames are strong enough to handle bands up to 25 lbs draw weight, all while remaining so small and thin they can be comfortably carried in a pocket or on a keychain. Frames are offered in your choice of two Aerospace-grade materials: 17-4PH stainless steel and Grade 5 Titanium-6Al-4V. We precision machine them in the same fashion as our pocket tools and then tumble them to provide a smooth, attractive finish. All designs are ambidextrous.
I. A true keychain slingshot: the two-piece S201.
The S201.1 and S201.2 are designed to be carried separately and assembled prior to use. The two pieces slip together without tools and form the smallest slingshot frame we offer. This design relies on the index and middle finger for a stable grip. The assembled S201 also features twist-off and conventional bottle openers.
II. The slingshot made for your wallet: the S301.
The S301 frame is designed for wallet carry. This is the lightest frame offered here, and its length and width will fit within the envelope of a standard credit card. It's thin cross-section of only .060" makes it virtually disappear in your wallet. The S301 features finger grooves for your index finger, middle finger, and thumb.
III. Pocket slingshots: the S302, S303, and S304.
The S302, S303,and S304 frames are the strongest frames in our lineup. They are precision machined from .125" thick material, making them exceptionally strong, but the skeletonized design assures a lightweight tool perfect for pocket or keychain carry. Like the S301, these frames rely on the index finger, middle finger, and thumb for a stable grip.
Please note that all rewards include frames only. You are purchasing a machined steel or titanium frame, and you will need to purchase a band separately through an online retailer or sporting goods store.
Advance-funding these tools will allow us to build production tooling (to improve machining tolerances from our prototypes), buy material in bulk, and access discounted material and machining vendors, all of which allow us to offer this tool at a lower price. Large-quantity orders like this are the only way we can make precision-machined Aerospace-grade tools available to you for this price!
We want to hear from you!
In an effort to continuously improve our tool designs and our business, we are always seeking customer feedback. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, please contact us!

Stretch Rewards! Updated 3/29
In celebration of passing 200% funding status today, we are making available two stretch rewards as add-ons - the B102 and B108 pocket tools. Both of these tools are precision-machined from .125" aerospace-grade 17-4PH stainless steel.
The B102 offers a bottle opener, a box opener, and a micro prybar in an ultra-compact package measuring less than 2" long and weighing less than 1/4 ounce. Add a B102 to any reward package for $9.
The B108 packs four wrenches (1/4", 5/16", 3/8", and 7/16"), a flathead screwdriver, a phillips screwdriver, and a prybar with a nail notch. This tool measures just over 1.5" long and weighs less than 1/2 ounce. Add a B108 to any reward package for $15.

Risks and challenges
As engineering project managers by day, we are well-prepared to execute our production plans after funding. Over the last two years, we have built close relationships with three machining vendors and two material suppliers. We utilize vendor redundancy not just as a means of keeping costs down but to ensure that production delays are minimized.
We utilize a concurrent design process in which our Engineering team and Manufacturing vendors work closely together during the design process. We do this so that our vendors are both kept aware of design updates and can provide manufacturing input which is crucial to the design of the parts. Working together in this manner ensures timely production of our designs.
If unforeseen obstacles do arise, we'll respond the same way we do in all our endeavors - immediately, intelligently, and with full disclosure to all our stakeholders.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
