New Stretch Goal: $6000
If we hit our stretch goal, the additional funds will cover the cost of hiring a sales assistant for Capsule ($1000) and covering the costs of preparing and shooting our look book for SS15 ($1000.)
Now that you've pledged the cost of getting to Capsule, these are both expenses that will make a huge difference in ensuring that Capsule is a success!
Having successfully created a first collection with the launch of a website, I now need to raise the funds to take my jewelry and design company, Geography 541, to the next level.
The hope is that with a second collection, and an unforgettable presentation at Capsule, I will attract media attention and retail clients that will help grow Geography 541 into a completely sustainable wholesale business.
- Designing a new 30 piece collection for SS15
- Producing samples for new collection ($800)
- Presenting SS15 collection at Capsule ($2000)
- Transportation and logistics for exhibiting at Capsule ($1000)
- Kickstarter/Amazon Acct fee (5% or $200)
About Capsule: Capsule is the premier trade show for new and emerging designers. They carefully curate brands so that only the best and brightest exhibit. It's an enormous honor to have been accepted to show and I'm thrilled at the opportunity.
To raise the funds needed for the launch of a second collection and to exhibit at Capsule, I've designed three exclusive pieces, inspired by the act of travel. The easy neutral colors each piece make them extremely versatile and wearable. They're perfect for a day at the office, dinner with friends, or even your next trip. As you wear them, my hope is that they inspire you by encouraging you to daydream of your past adventures or your adventures yet to come.
Each piece is handcrafted in my Philadelphia studio using traditional metalsmithing and textile techniques. All materials are American sourced brass and spun polyester thread. As these pieces are exclusive to Kickstarter, I'm able to offer them at their true cost, without the usual retail markup.
Exclusive, Personalized Designs
The coolest prize I'm offering as part of this Kickstarter campaign is the opportunity to collaborate on a custom designed piece or collection, inspired by your favorite place.
You provide the inspiration in a questionnaire, and we will then discuss via either email, Skype, or in person (NYC or Philadelphia only) to come up with pieces that you absolutely love. I'll offer three sketches for each piece, you'll pick your favorite, and then I'll take those sketches and turn them into one-of-a-kind pieces, made specifically for you.
This is a great opportunity to support a design-based small business. If you cannot afford to help fund this project, you can still help by spreading the word and encouraging others to help fund this project.

Risks and challenges
Of course, when starting out, it's hard to really identify what setbacks may occur. It's only once things have begun that unexpected obstacles begin to arise.
I will do my best to avoid as many setbacks as possible by working ahead and re-strategizing as I identify possible risks. With a hard and fast deadline for Capsule, I will need to find a way to successfully complete the second collection, even if it means re-strategizing my designs and/or material content.
I hope to avoid any and all setbacks, but will most definitely keep you updated on the progress of the project as I work through the new collection and preparation for Capsule.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
