Kickstarter Cancellation

After much consideration we have decided to withdraw our project from Kickstarter.

We’d like to thank you all for believing in us and backing us, GoA will still become a reality but through different means.

We will take the next month to reassess our plans, during this time you will still see us on the forums and we will continue to post updates to our website. Once we have a plan set we will let you all know what it is so that we can continue to build GoA together.

There are a lot of positives to take from this journey and we certainly don’t think of this as a failure, more a change in plans with actual direct feedback from the market, which should help us greatly in the future. One of the best things we’ve done is you guys. We managed to develop a thriving community in a very short time, which is bursting with ideas and support for the project and for that we thank you and we will continue to want and need your help in the future.

There are too many people to thank, but we’d like to take the opportunity to give special thanks to these guys (in no order!): Melcavuk, Krazus, Prototheca, Endtransmission, Karl Pedder, Gylan Hunter, Michael Musson, John Wigley, Des Hanley, Karol Rudyk, Bruno Lavallee, Angelika Rasmus, Andy Gibson (brandnewbadidea), Golem Painting Studios, James Sherriff, Tim Prow, Kev White, Wojtek Fils, Bob Naismith, Andrew Chesney, Paul Sawyer

We’ll talk to you all very soon

Thank you!

Rick, Rik, John and Co

Yes, I'd love to know if/when we can get our hands on the miniatures produced so far, as a memento of a long and well-fought campaign! I'm sure you all know that the things acheived here are all purely additive - you now have some better-developed concepts, a proven customer base and a wealth of exposure to work with! Congratulations for acheiving all that you did, and I very much look forward to seeing what route GoA takes in the future.

I am so sorry to hear this new. I cannot believe this, what will happen next?
      Good luck with Plan B :) :)

    3. Rasmus Petersen

Sad to read this - but I hope we have not seen the last of the Gates

Sad to hear this as well. I have great hopes in the rules system, the background and minis being sculpted: I am looking forward to hearing about you all soon. See you on the forums meanwhile and keep up the good work.

All the best. I'll keep an eye out for the reopening of the Gates of Antares.

Sad to see this is cancelled! That Hansa mini looks so good now!!!

If you decide to do a new kickstarter considere making a Rivet Wars or Zombicide (or 40K) type of Starter Game Box and make it about The Karpulo Orbital War!!! Then expand from there!

Cheers and good luck. I will be checking out the home page and forums for progress in this game...

I'll echo some others; I'd love to have the Hansa model. If you make it available, please let us know. If you want to keep it for a future exclusive mini, that's fine too.

thank you everyone, your support means a lot!

Wishing you all the best in this endeavor! Please let us know if there's any way we can support your continued efforts.

I think you probably made the right choice ending it rather then let it go to failure. I like your ideas and all your concepts, but I just feel 300,000 pounds was too high a goal with no real concepts or greens of the forces. Its clear people are interested in your ideas, as 100,000 is nothing to shake a poo covered stick at. I look forward to your next attempt.

It's a pity you have to stop this KS. :'(
I really hope you'll be able to make it another day. I really want this mini ! :)
Keep on the good work ! ;)

Sad to see it get cancelled like this, really hope it comes back in one form or another (on Kickstarter or elsewhere)!

My post in the main comments section says all my feelings but summarise here:

Thanks for bringing this project to us and we hope it really takes off the next time. You are all legends in the industry and this deserved the recognition and investment.

The Hansa model is really great. Would it be possible for these 1,008 people to buy one from you as a thank you? if you have some tooling ready then I am sure we would all be happy to purchase one :)

    16. Ed Lowe on

The paint job on Hansa is outstanding! Really hope we get to see more of this universe on the forum in the future.

    17. nova fix on

Good luck with the project. I'll be keeping an eager eye on this.

    18. Daniel Cassidy

Good luck with the game Guys Bring it home and make it bigger better and more scifi hard
I still think a KS will work just start at a lower funding point and lots of pre ready strecth goals you may be suprised how far it goes i've seen games start at 25 to 30 thousand and reach the millions you guys could too but we need to see what were getting and we kinda need to like it too :)
Best of luck and maybe read some more exotic sci fi for more nano tech playability

Please make sure this comes back in a more developed form and give us the chance to invest in your idea. Great start here and can't wait for more.

I look forward to seeing the project move forward in another way. Best of luck, and keep us up to date as you move forward!

Sounds like a wise decision, and I am definitely going to buy into the franchise in whatever way you choose to make it available. After all, your existing lines of historical miniatures and rulesets speaks volumes about your ability to deliver and quality check. And Kev makes wonderful sculpts.

I wish you continued good luck!
