About this project
The Chocolate Conspiracy is a project in pure, raw chocolate. We specialize in raw, organic, honey-sweetened chocolate bars. We also offer a selection of truffles, chocolate coconut sauce, and hot or cold chocolate drink mix. Everything is dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and refined sugar-free. We choose to provide our customers with chocolate that is delicious but also great for your health and well being. We are passionate about spreading love through chocolate!
AJ Wentworth is the owner and head chocolate maker of The Chocolate Conspiracy. He studied raw culinary art at The Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center and nutrition and health counseling at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. He started The Chocolate Conspiracy and then moved back to Salt Lake City to give his company a place to grow. The Chocolate Conspiracy is now in many specialty stores around the country and we can barely keep up!
We use locally sourced, raw, unfiltered honey to sweeten our chocolate bars. Honey is the least processed sweetener and is antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, great to boost the immune system, promotes growth of good bacteria in the gut and is high in vitamins and minerals, unlike white refined sugar. Combined with the healthful properties of chocolate, these two ingredients make quite the team.
Not roasting our cacao may seem like an unusual choice, but it's an informed choice. Theobroma Cacao is high in antioxidants and digestive enzymes, as well as magnesium, iron, chromium and other minerals and vitamins. It is the most chemically complex food in the world. It releases phenylethylamine (also known as the love chemical) and anandamide (the bliss chemical). These qualities are much more present in cacao that has not been heat processed; hence, we do not roast or heat process our cacao so that you--our customer--can enjoy the full benefits.
We use certified organic, certified fair-trade, certified kosher, raw cacao beans from Peru and the Dominican Republic. Each variety of cacao we use has its own distinct, delicious flavor profile. Other ingredients, such as balsamic vinegar, spices, essential oils and medicinal herbs are used to flavor chocolate bars and confections; optimizing the product's taste as well as its health benefits.

We have been making chocolate for 5 years with great success. In order to grow with efficiency, we need to upgrade our equipment and our packaging. Thus creating more chocolate, in a shorter amount of time and still keeping it a hand-crafted product. We are asking for your help and support, so that a healthier chocolate is available in more stores and chocolate-loving hands. This expansion will allow us to produce almost 10 times the amount we are completing now. We are also upgrading our packaging for our bars and drink mixes. Simplifying the bars with an envelope like package and putting our drink mix in nostalgic tins.
Here is a comprehensive list of items needed to grow:

Vibrating table $1000
