Hey folks, how goes it? Mark from Hudson Falcons here. It's been awhile since we put out a full-length, but after 3 years of writing we have new batch of songs we want to put out. As usual, we'll have some pro-labor songs, as well as a bunch of songs about just trying to keep from losing your mind. I'm very happy with this group of songs. It took me 4 years of writing to finish writing this record, and now it's time to get in the studio and lay it down on tape (or binary sequences).
We need help covering the recording process costs. Primarily the costs are: getting the band to Jersey - Chas Snyder our drummer lives in Kansas City; Guido Suave our bass player lives in Austin (about $600), the band rehearsals before recording (about $300), the studio costs for the actual recording (about $500 per day) and the mastering of the record (about $500). As always we're recording with our brother and consigliere, Max Caselnova.
We publicly funded our last couple of full-lengths and it went very well. Some people advised us to use Kickstarter rather than do it on our own, so that's why we're here. Since the band's inception over 17 years ago, we've embraced a DIY concept, but more importantly we've promoted the idea of family with our music and actions. Countless people have helped us out over the years - helping us book shows, cooking us dinner when we came through town, letting us stay at their homes, fixing our van when it broke down, helping fund our records - and we always have been and will always continue to be very grateful. All of these people are part of the Falcons family. It is them and only them we are beholden to - no record label executives, no corporate sponsors.
If you are not already, we urge you to become part of the family. It is for you we appear on stage with our hearts and souls on our sleeves putting everything we have into our performance; then getting back in the van and driving another 300 miles to do it again the next night, and the night after that and the night after that until there is nothing left to give or take - except to walk away with the feeling that we were all able to escape our internal and external struggles even if it was for just an hour - bonded by the majesty of rock 'n' roll. We're all in this together, all we have is the music and each other. Please help us be able to continue what we love to do, and what our souls need us to do.
Risks and challenges
Problems come up, this is the real world. If they do, we'll be in touch. We don't duck and cover when a problem comes our way, we face it. Hopefully there won't be any problems, but if there are, we'll let you know or you can let us know.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
