I work with ephemeral materials as a way to bear witness to the transient nature of life. Time is spilling forward in constant motion. Each moment is different than the one before. New circumstances are continuously unfolding, while relationships of every imaginable sort bend, bond or break.
I'm interested in states of potential and change. Instincts, systems, patterns, habits—how we all cope are of endless facination. I farm and forage, dream up notions and brew potions. I seek to engage all of the senses. Some of my works must be eaten to be understood.
These tiny sculptures were fashioned of vegetables from my garden. Realization and collapse happening in near synchronicity.
Mending Season is a series of sculptures I fashioned from heirloom vegetables I grew in my garden. Each tiny sculpture only lasts a few hours so photography is my primary way to share this work with others.
I want to make a set of limited edition (10 + 1 artist print) 9" x 12" c-prints of each of the 95 images from 2011 and 2012. Some of the vegetables and fruits featured in my sculptural works are quite rare. So in addition to sharing art I'm also seeking to document food plants that may no longer exist in the near future.
$5200 is the cost of making these prints. Any over-funding will go towards my next project, Mending Season 1 and Mending Season 2 handmade artist books which will feature the full set of images.
For $5 you will receive a signed 3" x 3" mystery seed packet. Each packet will be hand drawn by me with a unique question mark design on the cover and heirloom seeds inside. A hint on the back indicates when to plant. DELIVERY IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!

There is a different image for each month. And you can use it year after year. Please let me know your planting zone or I can determine it from your zip code.
For $75 you will receive both an 8" x 10" c-print of Purple Podded Pea No. 4 and a planting calendar.
For $120 you will receive a signed and numbered limited edition 9" x 12" c-print of your choice printed with an extra border for framing on metallic paper. The editions for each image are limited to 10 + 1 artist print. Once an image has sold out there will be no more printed. If it says SOLD OUT please choose another. Indicate your selection by the number underneath the print.

For $2000 you'll get me doing a live public vegetable sculpture-making performance using local produce. Then I can share the real sculptures! Dates and times to be arranged with the artist.
Risks and challenges
The challenge here is making the most beautiful prints possible. The photographs are still rough. I will be working to closely with the printers and a professional photographer to be certain each edition is as luscious as the original sculptures. I've also only mocked up one month of the planting calendar so I will need to finalize that also before printing.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
