About this project
"In a Flash" is the book that I wrote when I was 15 years old at the oncologist ward at Children's Hospital of Orange County. I was fighting for my life and I needed something hopeful to read. I looked to see if there were any books about teen cancers at any of the book stores or online, NOTHING! All the books that were written were by doctors or phycologists about pediatric cancer, but there was NOTHING FROM AN ACTUAL PATIENT. I knew I wanted to help. I needed to help fill this gap. I wanted to create a book that could motivate and show kids that there was hope in the world and with "In a Flash" I believe I have done just that. I intend to continue writing and sharing my journey with everyone, my goal is to have it read by people in every county, letting them know how to live every day to the fullest and that CANCER ISN'T YOUR LIFE, it's something you go through! Thats what life is all about right? Living each day to the fullest.
I need your help to raise the funds to print and ship my book and create the e-Book. I want to make it available to all the families that have been or currently are affected by cancer. I already have my printer, now all I need is your help to start the journey. Any money that is raised above and beyond our goal will be put towards visiting with kids in the hospitals as I travel across the US sharing my book.
*Goal - $30,000
*Print, ship and distribute printed book and e-Book.
*Travel to visit kids in hospitals (Local).
*Travel to visit kids in hospitals (US) plus all of the above.
*Travel to visit kids in hospitals (internationally) plus all of the above.
*Give speeches at schools and hospitals until the funds run out (US) plus all of the above.
Risks and challenges
Cancer Sucks! It is a very touchy subject and sometimes it will be hard for people to be positive. I understand because I was there, it can be hard to be positive in such a hard time. You don't know if you will make it to your next birthday. I can relate. That is why I created this book, because I can tell kids how hard it can be and help make the situation seem more relatable than anything. Stage 3 is hard to overcome. I stayed positive and knew that this wasn't the life for me. I will not stop sharing my love and hope.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
