Kickstarter Anniversary and Shipping Update
Hope you are having a great time. This weekend was special because it was the anniversary of our Kickstarter campaign. The anniversary was a bitter sweet moment and I thought that it was an appropriate moment to take stock of where we are. The anniversary feels great because when I look back I see that we have made lot of progress. In the last 1 year, we have gone from having prototypes to actually completing production. We have had some hiccups but we have managed to ship to a vast majority of our backers and are on the cusp of getting the product to retail. It certainly feels like an eventful yet fruitful journey.
On the other hand, the anniversary does not feel great because even though, we have shipped to a big majority, we have not shipped to everyone yet. We still have almost 10% of our Kickstarter backers and 20% of our Indiegogo backers waiting for their reward. That does not feel nice. Almost all the backers who are still waiting are international ( i.e outside US). A big reason why the international backers are still waiting is that shipping international has turned out to be far more expensive than I had originally thought, so much so that it caused me to run out of cash in the middle of last month. This resulted in substantial slowdown in shipping in second half of April.
In any case, I wanted to let everyone know that we have been working out the cash flow issues and that the Mishmi Takin delivery team is hard at work. We will deliver to everyone still waiting within the next 15 days.
A big thank you to everyone for supporting us in this journey. With that, it is time to celebrate the anniversary.
