TRANSDIMENSIONAL is a 4-issue sci-fi/horror miniseries that will appeal to fans of ALIENS, THE ABYSS, EVENT HORIZON and INFINITE DARK. This campaign is to fund the printing of #4 AND the graphic novel collected edition!
The graphic novel will feature all 84 pages of story and have a gorgeous KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE COVER by interior artist Henrique Pereira and colourist Jan Wijngaard.
There will be back matter about the making of the series, as well as the original six-page short story THALASSOPHOBIA, written by Michael Gordon and featuring art by Federico De Luca, which was the original inspiration for Transdimensional!
READ THE STORY SO FAR!
If you’d like a preview of the story, you can read the COMPLETE Issue #1 on our website!
Or if you'd like to read the whole story so far, we are uploading issue #3 to WebToons throughout the campaign, so backers can be fully caught up by the time they receive their digital copies. Read it this way HERE.
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
The story focuses on Deacon Price, an emotionally broken underwater archaeologist who charters an expedition under false pretenses to a downed Soviet ubmarine that's been missing for decades. Deacon is suffering from horrific visions that he is keeping secret from his family and friends. He is also struggling to deal with the long-term illness his daughter Evie is suffering, which has contributed to the breakup of his relationship with Evie's mother Grace Abbott.
Deacon lies to his employers about his true motivation for finding the Russian sub and assembles a crew (including Grace and his best friend Coop) to go deep beneath the waves to explore it. What he and his crew find there will not only put their lives at risk, but also the lives of everyone they've ever known!
The story gets progressively darker, more intense and horrifying as it goes along, and this is your opportunity to be one of the first to read the gory and harrowing conclusion.
A KICKSTARTER SUCCESS STORY!
TRANSDIMENSIONAL has already experienced great success on Kickstarter: #1, #2 and #3 were all successfully funded in 2017/18 and all rewards were delivered to our awesome backers within the timeframe quoted.
Here are the covers, by the amazing Federico De Luca (Scout Comics’ MINDBENDER):
CHECK OUT THE ART!
We've received some excellent feedback for issues 1, 2, and 3, and we're looking forward to hearing back about issue 4 throughout the campaign.
"The psychological drama Deacon goes through as he processes his loss is creative. The lack of distinction between past and present adds to the feeling that Deacon may be losing his mind. Deacon may be headed to a mental breakdown and I do want to find out if he can get it together before the s**t really hits the fan." - Comic Bastards, issue 1 review
"This issue saves the horror for the climax and keeps up a suspenseful pace right to the end." - Comic Bastards, issue 2 review
"It's mystery, drama, and romance beneath the water. " - First Comics News
"Gordon displays a surprising grasp of pacing and tension in his first full length script balancing shocking revelation with that growing sense of unease that it’s all going to end horribly, because of course it is." - Advance Comics
" The script provides a ton of mystery and intrigue, and the artwork is absolutely stunning." - A Place to Hang Your Cape
The entire miniseries is FINISHED, meaning that #4 and the graphic novel can go straight to print once the campaign ends. This also means that a digital copy of #4/the graphic novel will be sent to all backers IMMEDIATELY following the campaign closing.
Are you excited? We sure are!
We expect ALL DIGITAL REWARDS to be fulfilled within a week of the Kickstarter finishing, and all physical rewards to be fulfilled by the end of October 2019.
In order to make that happen, we've decided to keep this campaign simple - we want to fund printing the single issue and the graphic novel, so we're only offering the classics!
Here are the reward tiers:
If you select a reward level with a t-shirt, there will be multiple options for colours, and sizes will range from XS-3XL. We're still confirming with our contacts what colours and sizes will be available, but we will put this information out as an update later in the campaign.
- Original art rewards: If you choose one of the ORIGINAL COMMISSION options, Henrique Pereira will draw you anything you want (within the realm of good taste, of course)! Here are some of the AMAZING commissions from previous campaigns:
Deacon Price is a man consumed with two things: saving his daughter Evie’s life and winning back the love of Grace, Evie’s mother and his ex-fiancé. His obsession may end up dooming he and his crew (including Grace) to death at the bottom of the sea in the Adeline, the submarine he named after his mother.
Grace Abbott is an underwater archaeologist who worked alongside Deacon before they became an item and she gave birth to Evie. They’ve been separated for a while when the story begins, and she is convinced (against her better judgment) to join the crew of Deacon’s expedition to the L-285. She is worried that her relationship with Coop, Deacon’s best friend and another crew member, will be exposed…
Evie Price is Deacon and Grace’s young daughter. She is terminally ill, and it has taken a terrible toll on her parents, who split up sometime after her diagnosis. Evie just wants her mom and dad to be happy and has no idea what Deacon has been planning in order to save her life.
Nick ‘Coop’ Cooper is the Adeline’s engineer, Deacon’s best friend and Grace’s current lover, having struck up a relationship with her sometime after she and Deacon broke up. He has never quite known how or when to tell his friend, but now that all three of them are on the same submarine, it’s seemingly only a matter of time before Deacon finds out.
Roxanne Medina is the Adeline’s communications expert and a breath of youthful fresh air on the crew.
Jim McCall is the vessel’s Captain. An ex-Navy man, he’s a salty old veteran and has been tasked with the safe transport and return of this crew of scientists.
Price and Abbott are the parallel universe versions of Deacon and Grace. They are on the other side of a mysterious dimensional rift that manifests near the L-285 submarine and their intentions may or may not be bad news for the crew of the Adeline…

Risks and challenges
The support of backers on Kickstarter is extremely important to us at TPub, so it's our aim to set realistic delivery goals and keep you up to date throughout the process.
All the artwork has been completed, meaning we can go straight to print as soon as the campaign ends! Our printer has proven to be extremely reliable on tight timelines, so we're quite confident we'll have the book in hand by early September, with ALL rewards posted by the end of the month.
We set a buffer for our last campaign and will do the same for this one (October), just in case anything unforeseen happens, but we fully expect delivery to be September if everything goes to plan.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch by commenting or messaging us! We'll make sure we keep all backers updated on the progress of this project, as well as any delays that may arise.
