About this project
We are looking to fund the printing of the Deck of the living Dead. We have had the design and artwork for the deck done for some time, but the funds to produce it have been elusive. This deck is the latest from Bent Castle Workshops a tiny independent publisher (mainly Chris Pallace and Ben Crenshaw) who, up until this point, has been able to self fund their labors of love.
The cards will come in sets of 2 decks. Each set has a deck with black backs and a deck with corpse green backs. Both decks have the same faces.
Here is the king of hearts. Note that he is still the "suicide king". All standard deck features have been retained. We have also designed the deck with 4 oversized indexes so it's easy to use for both right and left handed players.
The aces are ornate iron cemetery gates. The number cards continue that theme and incorporate the unique suit icons we developed for this deck.
One other feature unique to Bent Castle decks are the X cards. Both this deck and our Pegleg Pete's deck of Royal Rogues have them. They are four extra cards, one for each suit, that can be used as you wish. Use them as wild cards in classic games. Make-up new games. Substitute them for other cards, like 8's - so crazy eights becomes crazy reapers. Or use one as a reveal in your favorite card trick.
Hey one and all, thanks so much for all your support. We have a ways to go but I have faith we'll get there. Zombie hordes are a bit slow in the beginning but we all know how it ends.
You may have noticed there are some rewards that seem a bit daft. They offer the same rewards packages at two different pledge rates. The "more expensive" ones are mistakes that I can only get rid of if everyone who selected them changes their pledge/reward choice to the correct, lower priced, ones. Sorry about that! This is my first kickstarter program and the zombies ate the portion of my brain that should have handled the math better at the beginning.
After talking things through with a local store here in Rochester we hatched a plan so they could help us and we could help them. Many of their customers are fans of our work and by getting them to have their rewards shipped to the store we save a lot of money on shipping. We in turn will give the store merchandise. If you have a group, club or store and can get 5 or more pledges shipped to one location we would be happy to offer you a similar deal. E-mail me for more info.
For those of you who have not seen it "The Clown (Le Queloune)" is a truly amazing short film enjoy and thanks for your support.
