This campaign is to print 'The Body Horror Book' - a non fiction book about Body Horror. Drawing from works from horror visionaries such as Clive Barker, David Cronenberg, and Mary Shelley, including introspective analysis of films such as 'Tusk,' 'The Fly,' 'Hellraiser,' 'The Fly,' 'Human Centipede,' as well as 'Frankenstein,' 'The Body Horror Book' is a non-fiction exploration of the monstrous aspect of the human form, the literary trope of the carnival and the grotesque, and how the state of political affairs at the time dictates the monsters created within fiction and film.
All funds will be used to print and ship the book, as well as the shipping of the rewards. Contributions will also go to Epilepsy Action Australia. Established in 1952, Epilepsy Action Australia undertakes research and advocacy, and delivers innovative, high quality services across Australia to optimise life outcomes for people with epilepsy. The organisation's aims are to increase epilepsy awareness and understanding in the community, and facilitate self-management of epilepsy for people with the condition.
Risks and challenges
While all efforts will be made to pay for the production of the book if it is not successfully funded, charity contribution comes before rewards, so a completely funded project is what we need to make sure Epilepsy Action Australia is supported, and everyone who backs the project receives their rewards. This project is a work in progress, and will take some time to complete, however if the book is not ready for shipping by the time the Kickstarter ends, all money will go towards charity and personal funds will be used to print and distribute the books.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
