About this project
Frank & Footer™ Teaser
Hello and Welcome,
Today is the beginning of a fun and rewarding journey. Join me in the development of Frank & Footer. What the heck is Frank & Footer? Frank & Footer is a new animated web series. Yes, I know what you're thinking. Not another web series. Well, this one is a bit different. Unfortunately, it is not for kids. Kids these days have it pretty good, well with SpongeBob Squarepants and all. But what about us young adults? Shouldn't we also have an animated series to enjoy and watch whenever we want? I give you, Frank & Footer.
Frank & Footer tells the story of two friends, a sausage and a hotdog. Hence, Frank & Footer. Get it? They live in a deli and only come out after hours when the humans have all gone home. During the day they look like your ordinary sausage and hotdog but at night they run around creating mayhem. There are lots of danger in the kitchen but there biggest fear is getting eaten by the chef. Not only do they have to survive in a hostile environment, they have to avoid the humans as well.
Who We Are
Take10 Animation Studios is an indie production studio founded in 2010. Our focus is on 3D and traditional animation for tv, film, games, and other related products. We are a team of 2 animators.
Hector Lopez - I've been in the animation industry for 6 years working on web series, films, and games for various company's. I've worked on games such as GTA IV "The Ballad of Gay Tony" and Red Dead Redemption for Xbox 360. Additionally, I've worked with clients such as Rockstar, Mondo Media, Disney, and many more. You can view my personal work at http://hlportfolio.blogspot.com/
Jesus Lopez - A CalArts graduate now working in the animation industry as a 2D/3D animator. He's worked on games such as Batman The Brave and the Bold, Silent Hill, Centipede Infestation, and Double Dragon Neon. His work can be seen at http://jesselopez-portfolio.blogspot.com/

Frank & Footer is currently in early development stage. We have a couple scripts written and all characters designed. The goal is to create 8, 3 minute episodes for season 1. As you may already know animation is not easy work. Lot's of hours go into creating an animated series.
It all started with a hotdog. Over the years of working for various studios I came to realize that working on someone's vision wasn't as satisfying as working on your very own project. In the work place you have directors who approve everything from how the characters look to how they should move. In other words, it's tough throwing in ideas and hope one of them sticks but that's just the business of it.
Frank & Footer came to be about a year ago when I decided to create my own show. Having 100% freedom to create something fun and over the top is the most satisfying feeling you can have in the animation world. That's why more and more web series are popping up on sites such as youtube and blip.tv. When creating something your passionate about working independently is the way to go. The end result, a funny web show that you can't stop watching.
Meet The Characters
Frank - He is the trash talker of the bunch. He is always quick to put someone down especially Footer. He is the character with the worse potty mouth. He is like a used car salesman. Talks a lot.
Footer - He is not so bright but on occasions figures stuff out a lot quicker than Frank. Let's Frank take the credit and takes the fall for his mistakes.
Miss Ketchup - She is the model type. Always looking her best and self-conscious about her figure. Does not put up with Frank.
Miss Mayo - She is the sweetest of the bunch. Just don't get her mad.
Here's the scoop on how we'll use the funds. Currently we have characters in place and a couple scripts written. That's it. What is needed is hiring a couple of writers to come up with 8, 3 minute episodes. After each script is reviewed and approved we'll move right along to voicing our characters. This stage is critical since right here is where the characters personalities will shine. We already have voice over actors ready to lend their voices. Once the voices have been recorded we'll move right along to creating a storyboard/animatic for each episode. This step is important as well because here is where we start to get a sense of how each final episode will look.
Moving right along, the next step is animation and background designs. Our plan is to hire more talented animators to help with each episode. The goal is to finish 2 episodes a month.
After the animation for each episode is complete the next step is sound design. Here a sound designer will add original music and SFX to each episode. After this stage the episodes are more or less final.
The final step is compositing. Here we will piece together all the scenes and time them to play correctly with music and sound. Everything will be put together to make each complete episode.
Ok, so let's re-cap. Here's an outline of what the funds will go to.
- Funny writers
- Voice-over actors
- Animation and backgrounds
- Music and SFX
- 5% Kickstarter fee
- Showering our wonderful backers with gifts
Where The Show Will Air
If all goes according to plan we should have the final episode completed by end of August 2013. We will be shooting for completion of 2 episodes a month. It all depends on our backers. More funding equals less time to complete all 8 episodes. It'll be great if we can complete 4 episodes a month. That way we can deliver season 1 a lot sooner. It all depends on you.
Once all episodes are complete we will air each one every other week on YouTube. We encourage everyone to subscribe to the Frank & Footer YouTube page for new episodes. Just click on the image below.
Our backers will receive access to watch all 8 episodes before anyone else. Please see our pledges to the right for more info.
Fun packs start at $25 and over. Here's a few cool items we have exclusively for our backers. These will not be available outside of Kickstarter.
Thank you for reading and for your support!
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge will be putting together the right team to complete each episode. Since we do all the work from home we don't exactly have a physical studio address where a team comes and works for us everyday. That would be nice but since we are an indie studio we must start from the bottom. Therefore we must hire freelance artists to help us complete each episode. Since communication will be through emails and skype that can sometimes cause delays. Rest assure once funded we will be in full swing and provide updates regurlarly.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
