Lots going on

Hey backers. A busy week with lots going on.

Production is going along great with the delivery timeline still on schedule. 90% of everything is going smooth with a few bugs. We are still optimizing heat dissipation as we continue to overclock the cpu, gpu and ram for better performance. These are minor bugs, but we want to get them done before we ship. Performance is very important to us and allowing the heat to dissipate without interfering with other components will help to provide a better experience.

Firmware & Software

Android was built for devices with batteries, cdma, gsm and 4g. We have been optimizing the system and removing alot of files for a more responsive Smart TV. Our goal is to hit above 3000 on the antutu benchmark. With the firmware and hardware optimizations we are on our way.

Just around the corner

We are working with a couple of unannounced big players in the media and gaming industry to provide an even better experience.

PS We are adding a new member to our team very soon to help with marketing and customer service. Thanks for backing us and being patient.

I had planned to use mine at a trade show starting next weekend. I had even offered to pay more for expedited shipping, but nobody from Equiso has responded to my messages about availability, so I had to order an MK802 instead. I think they were a bit too aggressive on their release schedule. With only 2 weeks to go and no shipping addresses requested yet, it seems like the hardware issues should have been resolved in July if Equiso had hoped to have devices in customers' hands before September.

While I am a little bent out of shape over the delay, the one thing that I liked better about Equiso was their focus on doing a good job with the software. I'm just hoping they didn't overpromise on that front like it seems they may have on the delivery date.

My intention is to use the Equiso Smart TV for streaming media from my network. Do you have any performance information on streaming from a SAMBA share on a network?

Oh yes, my opinion on that. the onboard memory will be used to store apps, not content. 4 gig will be more than enough, and if it is faster it makes the more obvious choice. So if you are going to use that rather than the 8gig, please do!

Did you find out for sure if you could use the more expensive memory you spoke about in a prior update?

Any estimations aswhat to expect our products be shipped? I know its somewhere in august but is it possible to narrow down to an estimate date possible? Thanks.

Excellent news, and sounds like a good plan to optimise the system by removing all the unnecessary junk.

Make sure you don't overclock them *too* much mind, don't want small fires appearing behind our TVs :D
