Soth will support the people of Christchurch.
Christchurch was my home for two years. Soth couldn't have been made without the help of the great people who live there.
I'm devastated by Friday’s murders of people in their houses of worship and sanctuary.
I want to help the families of Christchurch’s Islamic community who have been harmed (in every possible way) by this attack. I’ll be donating at least one percent of the money the kickstarter raises to support them.
If you’d like to support the families directly, please consider the following options.
International crowdfunding: Launchgood
The New Zealand Islamic Information Centre is running a Launchgood campaign where all funds raised will be distributed to the grieving families, to help with their immediate, short-term needs.
They have raised around $1.7 million to date. The campaign finishes on 1 April 2019.
Launchgood is an international crowdfunding platform focused on the worldwide Muslim community.

New Zealand crowdfunding: Givealittle
The New Zealand Council of Victim Support groups has a Givealitle campaign to provide ongoing support and resources for people affected by the Christchurch shootings and their family members.
They’ve raised around $4 million dollars to date. Their campaign finishes on 15 March 2020 (sic).
Givealittle is a New Zealand based crowdfunding platform.

New Zealand direct bank deposit: The Al-Manar Trust
The Al-Manar Trust is a non-profit that serves New Zealand’s Muslim community. They are collecting donations to provide immediate support to the families.
This donation drive is administered by the mosque in my suburb. I went there yesterday along with hundreds of my neighbours to lay flowers and show solidarity with grieving members of our community.
You’ll find details for making a donation at the following page: http://almanar.co.nz/christchurch-tragedy/
This option would be best for New Zealand residents who want to ensure their funds are immediately delivered to the families affected by the shooting.
Logistical support: My Fathers Barbers
If you’re based in Christchurch or can contribute, I’d recommend reading the My Fathers Barbers Facebook page. They’re doing great on-the-ground work right now to provide drivers and food to affected families. They're regularly posting practical ways to help.
The one percent donation I’ll be making is in addition to the money I will be donating to Women’s Refuge.
It will be calculated on the same basis: one percent of the gross amount (after Kickstarter and bank fees have been deducted).
A personal note
My work over the next few days will be quite intense (and I’ve had a slight recurrence of my hand injuries). I’ll make every effort to respond to comments quickly. However, my replies may not be as quick as I’d like.
