Have you ever struggled to find a particular favourite among hundreds?
Have you ever spent hours organising them into categories and subcategories so you could actually stand a chance of finding them again?
Have you ever opened a browser only to realise that all your favourites are stored in the OTHER browser?
Have you ever just wanted to have access to your favourites wherever you are and whatever browser you're using, perhaps on someone else's computer?
Have you ever wished it could all just be simpler?
With your help, prepare to be Bedashled!
Our objective is to be a simple, intuitive, and highly usable favourites solution in the cloud. We aim to improve your web experience from the very first click (or double click for those counting) of opening your browser.
Just some of the features we will include are;
- Clear icons (if available) show you which domain the favourite is linked to giving you an immediate graphical reference.
- A search box to filter your favourites on keywords (automatically retrieved from the destination page) or tags that you have added yourself.
- Cycle through the results using your mouse-wheel or arrow keys.
- Mouse-over or tap and hold to review the complete title (retrieved automatically from the destination url) and url of your favourite.
- Easily share a favourite by sending it directly to his/her Bedashle profile (or email-address), tweeting it, or posting it on Facebook.
- Add favourites to your cloud account by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org or simply drag them to your Bedashle profile.
- Favourites automatically organised based on how recently they are added and frequently they are used making sure you're most active favourites are right where you need them.
- Bedashle can be set as your default homepage so the favourites are there when you need them and no longer taking up space when you don't.

Stage 1: Concept design & planning - DONE
We've spent a lot of time over the last year working out the details for this project. From how to keep the UI as simple as possible, to which technology should be used so we can achieve the level of interactiveness that users should be able to expect, and how this project can be commercially sustainable long after the launch of Bedashle.
Stage 2: Proof of concept (Bedashle in the rough) - DONE
A basic proof of concept to ascertain whether the concept feels right and work out any kinks in the plan. This stage has already been completed giving us a strong base to start from, though ultimately still far from a finished product.
Stage 3: Funding - IN PROGRESS
This is where you, our valued contributors, come into the picture. Without you this project will take much much longer to complete due to the resources and funding it requires. We need your generous pledges no matter how small to help us kickstart the last few stages and get this wonderful solution online and into the hands and browsers of the public.
Stage 4: Active development
An initial development time of 2 months has been allocated to get this project to launch stage. This means that it won't take long after funding is complete to get Bedashle online and ready for you to use. Active development will continue long after the launch but the core of Bedashle will give you everything you need start using it and changing how you browse the internet.
Stage 5: Pre-launch and testing
We want to make sure we have a stable and bug-free solution. We'll accomplish this by pre-launching the project and allowing a preselected group of users to play with Bedashle and let us know what they think. Stage 6: Launch & marketing
This crucial stage will bring Bedashle to the public with fanfare and a huge marketing campaign to let as many people know about Bedashle as we can. The continued success or failure of Bedashle rests in the hands of the people but it is our biggest hope that everyone will come to be as excited about Bedashle as we are.
An overview of the costs
All of the development to date has been self-funded to get us to a point where we feel this will be a viable and successful project. We will continue to self-fund the project as much as possible but your help is needed to get this project off the ground and into the hands of the online public, including you as quickly as possible.
If we are able to reach our targets, the hosting costs for this project will climb rapidly. We have given ourselves a reasonable window within our goal to make sure that Bedashle stays online long enough to become self-sustainable. Once again, this would become a lengthy and painful process without your valued help.
Advertising and marketing
A large part of our goal and budget is allocated to marketing so that Bedashle can reach self-sustainable state quickly making sure that the core service remains free for all to use, permanently.
There are of course many other costs that come into play when working on such a project but we've included our own contributions so we won't bore you with all the details.
Though the word implies otherwise, you'll be amazed how much effort and work is involved in keeping something simple. We've spent many months mulling over the details of Bedashle to distil our concept down to the bare essentials for our users. We believe that complexities should never be experienced by the user, only by the builder. This is one of our primary objectives for Bedashle: Keep it simple!
Pledges & rewards
In order to reduce the costs and maximise the investments made by your highly valued pledges we have opted to limit our rewards to digital incentives. This means we don't have tangible goods such as T-shirts and coffee mugs but if you're looking for something like this please let us know. With enough demand we may just be able to arrange something for you, our dear contributors.
Risks and challenges
Low public interest:
We have a lot of passion for this project and it's our sincere hope that you will too. With a simple and effective solution we believe Bedashle will become the defacto home page for everyone.
The internet is vast and varied so it stands to reason that there are some competitors out there. We've been able to track down our primary competitors and though are very few we have planned accordingly. We believe the pure simplicity of Bedashle will be our most valuable playing card.
Unforeseen technical limitations:
With our experience in building web solutions to date we have a good sense for the possible technical limitations of a project. We've developed a proof of concept for Bedashle to make sure we can resolve any bottlenecks so unless some new unexpected problems arise we can deliver Bedashle to you as scheduled.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
