We have some great ideas for stretch goals. There are so many cool features that we want to include, but we cannot decide the order in which we should list them… which is why we need YOU, mollusc fans!
You will be able to vote on our website for the feature you’d most like to see in the game. Do you want multiplayer action? How about a multi-platform release? Or even more single player content? Maybe you’d prefer to create your own levels and puzzles?

Somewhere, high up in the sky, the Mollusc God rises above his cloudy worktable. With an almighty sneeze, Snot is born. The Mollusc God, unsatisfied with his work so far, squeezes and strains until a single snail shell is produced. The shell, brimming with hidden potential, sits proudly on the little gastropod's back.
Suddenly, in a puff of green smoke, a mysterious figure appears, and strikes the Mollusc God with a bolt of lightning. The Mollusc God, stricken with rage, flies away on a rampage. An evil force has corrupted him! A shocked onlooker, the Freezy-WingSnail, jumps up and freezes Snot into a ball of ice- and just in time, too, as the evil Mollusc God swoops down from above, KOing the icy creature.
Snot tumbles through the clouds, safely plopping into the ocean.
Sometime later, he washes up on a beach. As he slowly thaws out from the ball of ice, many questions circle around his head: Where am I? Who was the mysterious character with the skull for a face? And most importantly: What is the purpose of my existence?!
All will soon be clear, little mollusc.

The most athletic snail the world has ever seen! Snot runs, jumps, and beats the slime out of his enemies by using a combination of melee attacks and his shell-throwing ability. Close-range attacks can be aimed by controlling Snot’s gaze, hitting nearby enemies with his tail. Shell attacks, however, can be aimed with a cursor, and are launched through the air as a long-range attack.
The two “standard” shells: Snail Shells fire in an arc, whereas Conch Shells fire in a straight line.
Shells can all be used only once as they smash on impact with a wall or enemy - so aim carefully! Don’t worry though, snail shells and conch shells will be constantly picked up throughout levels so that Snot never runs out!
There are other kinds of power-ups, too…
Energy symbols each have three uses. They power-up both kinds of shells, to create all kinds of crazy weapons that help you solve puzzles and defeat bosses. They can also power-up Snot’s melee attack and offer additional effects if applied to Snot himself.

In true Metroidvania-style, Snot must master the abilities while exploring vast, diverse worlds full of enemies and puzzles. Use the many power-ups in the game to unlock secrets in already-explored areas and uncover whole new areas. There could be bosses hiding around any corner…
With a wide spectrum of colourful characters and whimsical storylines, this is a Metroidvania like no other!
We plan to have several stages of releases. Instead of calling them “alpha, beta” and so on, we've divided them into stages. Which level of access you get depends on the amount you pledge.
We will use our weekly newsletter to announce more detailed release dates, once we know them.
What we plan for each stage:
This is the official release. We will have finished all worlds and all extra features that make it in. This will be the final game, released at the end of 2015.
This is likely a beta. The game will be about 90% complete (all worlds ready) and we’d like lots of feedback! This stage is very important to improve overall gameplay. This will be released in late 2015.
This would be called the alpha stage. There won’t be as many testers at this stage, but we still need them. Testers at this stage should note that there will likely be some bugs. With stage 1 we will focus on bug finding and fixing. A few worlds will be finished, but maybe not fully playable. This stage is planned for mid-2015.
This is a very special access level. A small handful of people will be able to play the game from the very beginning. This stage begins once we build the first world. You can have a big influence on the game's development here. This stage is planned for early 2015.

Tobias Mittelstädt - PROJECT LEADER, GAME DESIGNER, PROGRAMMER
The game designing and programming tasks will be done by Tobias "Suncheck", who has a bachelor degree as an engineer with a focus on computer science. He has been a gamer for his whole life and has over 10 years of programming and game designing experience.
Michael Hodkinson - CREATIVE DIRECTOR, PIXEL AND CONCEPT ARTIST, GAME DESIGNER
An animation graduate from the Arts University Bournemouth, Michael "Mikey" is the original creator of Snot and has spent the past six years conceptualising and creating concept art for the project. He specialises in pixel art and plasticine modelling, and will be taking on the roles of artist and creative director for Snot.
Jakub Derbich - FINANCIAL AND PROJECT MANAGER, PUBLIC RELATION
Jakub "Kuba" takes the part as manager in the team. He has a bachelor degree in business management and extensive experience as a sales controller for a large company. In this project he is responsible for public relations, financial issues and project management.

We have lots of great rewards! To help you with your decision, we have made an image to show you what you could get in return for your pledge. For more information on each reward, scroll down for a description. If you are more interested in rewards from higher tiers, and there are lower-tier rewards you are less interested in, you can ask for an individual pledge and we will try to work out a compromise. We want to make sure our supporters are happy with what they receive!
- £500 (Supportive Fan): You will get £20 pledge + Stage 0 Access + Earliest Access + Weekly Chat Access + Direct Chat Access + All DLC for free.
- £3000 (Super Backer): You will get £20 pledge + your own logo will be shown on a startup-screen.
- Stage 2 access: To get access to stage 2, you need to pledge at least £45. EXAMPLE: You only need to add £10 to a £35 pledge to get stage 2 access as a bonus.
- Stage 1 Access: To get access to stage 1, you need to pledge at least £175. EXAMPLE: You only need to add £25 to a £150 pledge to get stage 1 access as a bonus.
- Stage 0 Access: To get access to stage 0, you need to pledge at least £750. EXAMPLE: You only need to add £50 to a £700 pledge to get stage 0 access as a bonus.
Depending on the amount you pledge, your name will go under different headers.

A collection of high quality concept art produced throughout the duration of the project. This will showcase the design process of game elements such as levels, characters, gameplay mechanics and anything else Snot-related! This will be given out as both a PDF copy and a physical copy depending on the pledge amount.
Yeah, you heard that right! It will be very challenging to get every secret and see every little room. We will design a complete walkthrough with maps, secrets and all the hints you need to beat the game at 100%!
INDIVIDUAL SKETCH (Backers only)
Individual sketch of a character or object from the game. This sketch will be unique! You can choose a world as setting, and your favourite character (or anything else!) from the game.
You will get a T-shirt in your size with the design of your choice. There will be a few designs to choose from.
DLC - "MUSEUM WORLD" (Backers only)
This DLC contains a full world made out of unused sprites that were designed several years ago in an early stage of development.
DLC - "SNOT'S WINNING POSE" (Backers only)
Every time Snot collects a special item or kills a player in multiplayer mode, he will make a funny sound with a special animation.
You will get access to a weekly chat, where you can ask us anything about the progress, the background, the game or even the creators.
You are able to chat to any developer you want via Skype. You do not need to wait for an answer email and will get a direct response to your questions.
You can be one of the few people who will get every new version direct and as soon as any content is added. You will have a version at least one week earlier than anyone else without earliest access. You will be a first-hand tester and have big influence on the game development process.
DESIGN DECORATION, NPC, ENEMY OR BOSS
You can send ideas, sketches or graphics for your own item in the game. We will work together to come up with something really nice!
It’s worth noting that although you will have the opportunity to design parts of the game, we will have the final say in whether your idea is possible or not. We will fix content that is against the law, does not fit into the gameplay or completely goes against the style of the game. Most ideas will be accepted within reason.
Snot has been in production for 6 years, but without your help, we can't make this game a reality. We have now all finished our university courses, and will have no other jobs to do while producing Snot, and therefore will have no other income. Kickstarter is here to make our dreams come true!

Risks and challenges
We will try to lower the risks to a minimum. But even with the best planning it is impossible to work without risk. There will be always risks- that some team member will no longer be able to work on the project. It is a very small change, of course.
We have a lot of ideas about how the game should look, and how the player should move through the adventure. Sometimes we may be too picky with something, and that could delay the delivery. But we want to release the game as best as we can, and not as soon as we can... it would not be fair to release an official game that is more like a beta. (Of course those who pledge the right amount will be able to get access to a beta version!)
