Standing desks are getting popular, but people are trading in sitting too much for standing improperly. When we created the Readydesk, we focused on building an ergonomic, inexpensive standing desk with an eye-catching design. Now, everyone has the option of standing while they work. Using the Readydesk at your home or office says to the world, "I won't let The Man keep me sitting down!"

Getting The Design Right
For the past three years, we've made one desk at a time: testing, fixing and redesigning as we go—about 29 prototypes in all. This type of research and development is expensive, but we wanted to get it right before we revealed the finished Readydesk.
Hitting our funding goal of $18,900 allows us to make many desks at once. This lowers manufacturing costs and lets us keep the price low for the Readydesk. Now, more people can join the stand up revolution.
When you fund the Readydesk, you're helping more people experience the benefits of standing at work. Please back us today!
Funds raised on Kickstarter go toward:
- buying recyclable Baltic Birch wood
- paying a CNC operator to cut the desk pieces
- sanding, staining and finishing the desks
- storage, packaging materials and shipping expenses
We have one lumberyard and two CNC shops that we work with in San Diego County. We could lower our expenses by going across the border to Tijuana, but we will continue to support American manufacturing.

Risks and challenges
We've done a lot of upfront work so that when you back the Readydesk and this project is funded, we hit the ground running.
However, we still need to source custom-sized shipping boxes, packaging and figure out shipping logistics. Without knowing how many Readydesks will be needed, we can't know for certain the capacity and speed of our production. We have a lot of work to do, but that's what makes this project so exciting for us.
We expect to start shipping desks within 30 days of a successful funding. Check out the timeline above for a more detailed description of how we imagine it will all play out.
Team Readydesk is excited to do this. We hope you are equally excited to have a standing desk! Pledge today to help battle the evil executives at Big Chair!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
