Create a free marketplace connecting African businesses with their customers worldwide and help them resist global giants.
Our goal is to boost the economy in Africa by open sourcing the online marketplace.
We give business owners and service providers a provision free online shop, without ads and recurring fees.
Support our effort to network Africa and connect all surviving businesses with a wider customer audience.
Help them offer better products while getting better payed for their hard work.
Let's do this before big global companies start to exploit and profit on the growing economies.
We are YuliApp
Just have a look at the picture below to see what YuliApp offers, compared to other online marketplaces.
The future of online shopping rests with crowd and open sourcing. The Internet belongs to the people! Internet shopping belongs to you! Now it is time to rethink the global internet shopping and offer an alternative to big players like Amazon, eBay or Alibaba who gain insane profits and remove money from where they are needed the most.
YuliApp is provision free. Most costs and profits with special delivery or VIP features are given back to the community through Depots around the world. YuliApp Community Depots are local representative groups, they are like Facebook groups, usually city or country based, but can be also topic based (like pets, vegan or events Depot). YuliApp shares local support and know how with volunteers and companies who want to take care of the community they live in and provide us valuable feedback about local problems, needs and ways to expand.
The result of the crowd and opensourcing is decreasing of the final product price by showing people clear and transparent costs and an explanation of how the price was built.
Our motto is to Offer, Improve and Help
… more features coming every day and they all are impossible to list in a short presentation. So to learn more about YuliApp visit the homepage http://YuliApp.com
YuliApp is already completed with over two years of development and is running a profitable company now. The app is available from Google and Apple Stores.
How YuliApp will spend it
The above statistic shows the number of internet users in selected African countries as of June 2017. As of that month, Nigeria had 91.6 million internet users. Second ranked Kenya had 43.33 million users. As of January 2017, the majority of web traffic in leading digital markets in Africa originated from mobile devices - in Nigeria, one of the countries with the biggest number of internet users worldwide, 81 percent of web traffic was generated via smartphones and only 16 percent via PC devices. This is connected to the fact that mobile connections are much cheaper and do not require the infrastructure that is needed for traditional desktop PCs with fixed line internet connections. Already with sharing the idea of YuliApp, we start to change the world. We hope that we get at least 50.000 Euro to make the first step of improvement in Africa.
The biggest part of the money, 90% of all donations, will be used to help local African representatives in different countries to create their own Depots based on YuliApp.
We will offer them salary for their efforts to map local shops, register users around and advertise.
We will need 2000€ per country, so 50,000-54,000 € to cover most of Africa.
Practical example with Kenya, where we started:
- We offer 100€ for local based photos to local photographers we will use for promotions
- We offer 100€ for mapping of complete market around the biggest cities (delivery prices, shops, photos of shops, competitions, internet, language,...)
- We offer 50€ for mapping market in the rural areas
- We offer 100€ for local specific translation and adjustment (currency, popular products, banned products, etc)
- We offer salary of up to 300€ a month to Kick-Start :-) depot managers and their business.
Those rewards might seem high for African market but as experience with India, China and other countries showed us, we get high quality results and we build trusted relations with our future depot managers who will in the end run all local efforts for us.
In the end of about 4 months period, we want to have YuliApp translated in 9 of the most spoken African languages (together with French and English it will cover the majority of users):
- SWAHILI over 100 million speakers
- AMHARIC over 21 million speakers
- YORUBA over 30 million speakers
- OROMO over 30 million speakers
- HAUSA over 40 million speakers
- IGBO over 20 million speakers
- ZULU over 10 million speakers
- SHONA over 10 million speakers
- ARABIC over 100 million speakers
The remaining 10% of the donations will be used for global forms of marketing for all African efforts. Online ads, offline ads, viral marketing and educational videos.
Risks and challenges
The concept of this idea has been analysed by many clever people in the business world. However, the risk is still that some Hippo of a big player with virtually unlimited resources will beat the plan down if YuliApp is not fast enough. YuliApp cannot save money and wait a year or two.
So, marketing here is the key to success.
YuliApp is already now profitable without any loans.
YuliApp owns all that it needs.
YuliApp does not outsource anything.
