Introducing Keisha Cane...
“Keisha Cane had a very sweet tooth. It often got her into the middle of mischief. Late one night, when the moon was full and Mommy and Daddy were snug in their bed, Keisha’s sweet tooth made her tummy rumble.”
Keisha Cane and Her Very Sweet Tooth is a delightful new book for young readers, featuring the memorable and mischievous, Keisha Cane. Keisha’s infamous sweet tooth strikes in the middle of the night and she breaks a cookie jar, sparking a laughable chain of events. Little readers will be able to predict Keisha’s next mishap and will also learn a valuable lesson about making (and fixing) mistakes.
Hello friends, family, church family, book lovers and fellow educators:
As an author, educator, and artist, I absolutely fell in love with children’s books while teaching kindergarten and first grade in Memphis, TN. Even though I miss the day to day of the classroom, writing has always been my passion. So, children's books have truly become my calling. I get to rely on all of the skills I learned in the classroom to craft a book that would provide teachable moments at home and at school.
Plus, I get to work with an amazing artist (my sister!). We labored long and hard to create really fun illustrations! The illustrations are hand crafted and delicately cut with high-quality paper. We used vivid colors as well as African inspired prints. Our collage technique allowed us to layer texture, color and shapes.

Risks and challenges
The book is already written and we are in the editing stages so you won't have to worry about the book not getting finished! The biggest obstacle will be any production or printing delays. However, we are working closely with our printer to ensure that books arrive in time for our official signing on March 23, 2013. Immediately after our Kickstarter campaign ends, we will begin packaging your orders so that you will receive them by our estimated time of arrival. For our larger backer packages, we already have several school visits scheduled and schools/libraries identified that can receive donations. This is a pretty hassle-free commitment and we promise to not let you down!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
