We're making comfy pants out of second-hand t-shirts. They are great for stretching, dancing, being active, and being still.
We are a small and kind-hearted craft and indie fashion label, manufacturing sustainable clothing and other fun fiber art. All items are hand made in Brasstown, North Carolina, USA. The pants are our first and main product and we love them!
Recycled and sustainable materials ♻️
The fast fashion and mainstream clothing industry are some of the nastiest in the world, exploiting both humans and nature. So let's do something else! Our pants are mostly made of recycled, second hand cotton t-shirts (which the flea-markets and thrift stores are full of). The rest of them, the waist and ankles, is 100% organic cotton, made in the USA.
We need your size. Sponsors ordering our pants will need to send us their size info, meaning their waist measurement and inseam. If you want to make this a gift and not spoil the surprise, find out your friend's measurements. You'll be expected to send the info in the survey when the project closes.
Inside the waist part of the pants there is an adjustable elastic band with button holes, so it's easy to make them tighter and looser around the waist.
We need your color preference. In the survey you will be asked to describe the color of your future pants. Use short descriptions like "all black", "crazy rainbow colors", "earthy greens and browns" or "black with bright pink" etc. The pants are made of recycled t-shirts and finding the right colors on cotton tees is a big part of the making. So note that we can't promise to match your favorite shirt exactly, but we do love to mix and match and design the over-all look to be the way you prefer!
After the project closes and Kickstarter has collected the pledges, we'll send out a Kickstarter address survey and request the size and color info. You should be ready to send the info by March 5. We'll shoot to have the pants ready to ship during the spring of 2017, between March 6 and June 1, depending on your place in the order list.
Pants can be shipped anywhere in the world, how nice! Shipping fee for USA is $5 and for the rest of the world $10.
Risks and challenges
We think that the risks to the project are small. We've made lots of pants like this before, but this is the first time getting all of the info online instead of face-to-face, and shipping them internationally.
Sponsors of our Make/100 Friendsday Pants will receive updates through Kickstarter as the project happens. You can also check us out on http://friendsday.fi .Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
