About this project
A Bit about Chocolark Sweets, LLC
Chocolark Sweets, LLC is a small home-based bakery/candy shop, owned and operated by me, a stay-at-home mom, in the Portland, Oregon area. After years and years of baking and decorating treats as a hobby, I finally gave in to the requests of all my friends and family and decided to open up my own little sweets shop. I have already passed the required inspections to obtain my Domestic Kitchen License and my Business Registration has recently been approved. I hope to be fully up and running by the end of June this year so that I may begin selling to the public.
Chocolark Sweets, LLC specializes in unique, hand made, hand rolled, hand dipped and hand decorated truffles. Also available from my shop will be cookies, fudge, candies and sweet snacks. Each item created is slightly different since I don't use molds or machines to make them for me. I lovingly slave over details to make each special treat a visual delight. My treats are not only visually pleasing, they are a heavenly treat for the palate as well. With new specialty and seasonal flavors popping up in my recipe books all the time, there are sweet treats in my shop sure to please just about everyone.
What is this Kickstarter for?
All funds raised from this Kickstarter campaign will go toward three things.
1) Equipment (such as a food scale, candy and refrigerator/freezer thermometers, tempering machine... etc.) needed for proper production, storage and measurements of my treats.
2) Packaging, Printing and Labels (i.e. wrappers, gift boxes, shipping boxes, business cards... etc.) needed for selling, displaying, labeling and shipping my sweet treats to the public.
3) Bulk Ingredients. In the past I have always ordered just enough of the ingredients needed for making that one batch of goodies I planned to make! Now that I'll be filling orders for the public (not just for friends and family on special occasions anymore) I will need to have a larger supply of ingredients on hand at all times. I have come to realize that buying in bulk, although it saves you some money in the long run, is very expensive up front.
I know the $3,000 I'm hoping to raise won't cover everything I need, but boy, it sure will help! I have to admit, I don't make much money being a stay-at-home mom. Any funds raised beyond the $3,000 will also go toward expanding and improving my business, prepping it for sales by the end of June, so that I can offer the best possible finished product to my customers.
Please remember that with Kickstarter, it's an all or nothing kind of deal. If Chocolark Sweets, LLC can't reach the $3,000 mark, it gets nothing at all. Your donated amount only comes out of your account if I can reach my total goal amount. Therefore, please consider supporting Chocolark Sweets by not only becoming one of our backers, but also by sharing this Kickstarter campaign with your network. Please post this on your Facebook page, blog, website, twitter account... etc., and help my tasty little business succeed! Thank you for all your support. With Kickstarter and awesome backers like YOU, Chocolark Sweets, LLC will have the opportunity to grow and share a love for chocolates in a way that everyone can enjoy!
Also, please note that rewards will be sent out in November. If possible, I will get them sent out sooner, but I do worry about shipping chocolates during the hot summer months. The extra time will also allow me to get my business cards, food labels and catalogs printed up so that I can send them to you along with your reward packages. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
