Turning the poems from my collection of illustrated children's poetry into an audio book with the help of one terrific young lady. Read more

About this project
In 2011, I wrote a collection of poetry that was illustrated by (the extremely talented) Phillip Ashworth. The book was a great deal of fun to write, and giving away over 1,500 copies was wonderful as well.
I've decided to put that book onto a CD so that it may be enjoyed by listening (in addition to reading). I'm getting ahead of myself though, let me take a step back a couple years...
In 2007, I worked at the Concord Academy Summer Camp in Concord, MA as a counselor (I would eventually become the head of the Teen Adventure Program). Every session, and summer, there were some repeat campers, including Lilli.
Lilli was no regular camper though, she likely could have done as good (if not a better) job than I did running the camp - she was just that sort of responsible already.
Well, as we all know, time passes, and I moved on from the camp and Lilli did as well. We stayed in touch though and I was fortunate enough to hear about all the wonderful things leading up to her current adventure in life: college.
When I decided that I'd like to record these poems, she was the first person that came to mind, so I asked her if she would. It's a safe assumption that she said she'd be happy to (otherwise this Kickstarter wouldn't exist).
She spent some of the (little) free time she has as a hard-working student recording the poems...and the sound quality was not what we had hoped for. So, instead of settling, we'd like to get Lilli into a professional recording studio to record these poems so they may be released on CD/MP3. And so, we are hoping to raise enough money to record the album and then release the album for next to nothing on BandCamp.
So, what will the money go to? Two hours of professional recording studio time, production of hard copy CDs, and every penny after that? Lilli's college education.
A pretty worthy cause if you ask me.
Thanks for taking the time to check this out and we hope you're able to pledge your support! -Andrew and Lilli

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge is going to be making the time to record this while one of us is a full-time teacher and the other is a full-time student. We're dedicated to the project though, so we will do everything we can to make it happen in a timely fashion.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
If seventeen people like this project on Facebook, how come only a small handful have pledged monetary support?
I like unicorns, spaceships, private islands, and the idea of a homemade fleece onesie, but sometimes we just don't have the resources to do something more than just appreciate an object or idea from afar.

Andrew will cook dinner for you and up to five friends at your house within two hours of Cambridge, MA (unless you provide him with travel expenses). He'll then perform a 25-minute improv routine that you potentially will never forget (and quite likely wish you would). You provide the materials for cooking or expect it to be a grilled cheese feast - and if you want this but don't live close, I'll cook ya something, hermetically seal it up, and mail it over with a video of the improv which no longer makes it improv I think because you're watching it - but I'm not a scientist so I don't really know if that's technically correct.Estimated delivery:
