About this project
If your regular gaming group, past or present, made a podcast what would it be like?
Chances are, we're it.
For 300 consecutive weeks, from early 2011 to the end of 2016, we were the gamers that shared their game-night with you. We became more than a podcast for a lot of people, opening the window and letting people into our weird worlds. In the process something amazing happened, we entered theirs. We experienced some truly wonderful moments with friends old and new.
Audio quality is a tenet of Gamerstable. A high standard that became increasingly difficult to maintain, due to the inconsistency in recording locales. We didn’t know from week-to-week where we were going to be or even if we were going to record. Basements, garages, conference rooms... we recorded episodes in all of them. It got to the point where the burden and uncertainty became too much and we decided to stop the signal.
After a hiatus we are poised to make a comeback, but we need your help.
We could have very easily decided to pick up recording again like we used to, but that is no longer an option. Gone are the days of random, last minute recording sessions. Gone is uncertainty about getting an episode recorded. We’ve decided to step up our game. We are going to record in a studio.
In our area, studio rental and sound engineering costs between $100-$200/hour. For us, $100/hour falls within our budgetary range. Depending on the total amount of funding, we will be able to produce episodes with an even better quality standard than ever before.
When funded, we will record episodes for a season. How many episodes we record for this season is up to you. At the base funding level, 6 high-quality episodes will be produced. More episodes and exclusive content are possible through stretch goals.
Here are our goals:
The "Game with Crew" goals are events where some backers will play online games with us, ran by some of our awesome friends like Pete Petrusha, David Kizzia and Chris Hussey. Each event will have at least 2 cast members playing with the backers.
Slots for the events will be available for backers at the Board Member level first then to Society Members level backers. Dates for the events will be determined at a later time.
Risks and challenges
There is always the risk that the season will be cut short due to illness or unforeseen tragedy, but barring that we will complete the season with the total number of episodes you determine.
Episodes may not have every cast member. Scheduling conflicts happen, but each episode will have 3 cast members minimum.
