About this project
We’re excited! We're raising community and financial support for our movie project Jeff's World. We're raising money to cover our production costs.
Associate Pastor Jeff Delay has a shot at his lifelong dream…to be a comic book illustrator! Oops! Uh, that is…to be the next senior pastor of Valley Christian Fellowship (and not a moment too soon)! With his wife Abby unemployed and pregnant and their living space having shrunk from a lovely suburban home to a low rent apartment, Jeff can really use the bump in pay. All Jeff has to do is put away his art supplies and his knack for turning solemn occasions into dippy displays and the job is his! Oh yeah, he also has to outperform the ultimate super pastor, Colton Beals, who also wants the job. No big deal. Or at least it wouldn’t be if Jeff’s apartment manager, mister easy going himself, Frank, would stop making Jeff believe in himself!
Jeff’s World is a heartfelt comedy set in the seldom seen world of life behind the scenes of American Evangelical Christianity.
We're combining the unique blend of the reality TV format with the ‘documentary’ style pioneered by the TV series “The Office”. Our plans include doing the filming and post production entirely in the Sacramento, California area using local talent and technicians. The money being raised is just for the production of the movie.
We have a fine script written by Loren Rosser, the majority of our locations secured, and are currently holding auditions for the characters. We plan to begin shooting in the Spring of 2012, with post production completed before October 2012. Be sure to follow us on our Jeff's World Blog
Ten percent of the profits made from this movie will be sent to "A Future and A Hope," a Christian charity working on orphan care and issues of poverty and AIDS in Kenya, Africa.
Your card won't be charged until March 24, 2012, at 7:39PM EDT if the project is completely funded.
Your card will never be charged and we don't receive one cent.
All pledges are made through Amazon.
Nope. It's no different than making a purchase on Amazon. And if you already have an Amazon account it's a breeze! You can use your existing account.
That's great! BUT, since your card will not be charged until March 24, there's no reason to wait for payday.
Absolutely! Just click on the "Manage Your Pledge" button.
The money we raise will be used to cover the costs of shooting the movie. This includes hiring a skilled crew, paying the actors, renting equipment, securing locations, designing sets, feeding the cast and crew, and purchasing insurance to cover the shoot.
Would you pay to see those movies...if he wasn't your kid? The fact is what is typically referred to as a low budget movie in Hollywood costs between $1 - $5 million. We're actually shooting this movie for far less than just a screenplay typically costs.
Creativity and sacrifice! We didn't have to purchase the script because one of the producers wrote it and the way the movie is written allows us to tell a compelling story without having to compete with Hollywood budgets. The entire cast and crew is either volunteering or working for wages that are far below standard movie production pay rates.
That's our goal! But we can't do it without you. We need you to spread the word about Jeff's World. Tell your friends and family about it! And of course, make a pledge!
Go to the Jeff's World page on facebook and "like" us. Then "like" this kickstarter page. Tell your friends and family about the movie. Make a pledge and then encourage others to make a pledge too!
