a busy night ahead of us
Took a lot of arm twisting to get a truck to come today -
but it looks like I should be getting games between 5-6 tonight. Been told to
have lots of help to get them off the truck - we live on a hill and the truck
may not be able to use its lift gate.
2000 games - about 3lbs each that is 6000 lbs of games that will have to tossed out the back of the truck, and hauled up our driveway that is over 50 feet long and rises about 15 feet.
Good news is that this gives me all weekend to get boxes packed up. I am going to try to get all the USPS packages for the US done and sent out on Saturday - that will give them a fair shot of getting to people well before Thanksgiving. Then I'll work on International and FEDEX packages - FEDEX arrives on Monday to make their pick-up, and any USPS packages that aren't ready by end of day Saturday will go out on Monday as well.
Good news is that Oakland is the USPS hub for northern California - and it usually takes 2 days for these priority packages to get to other major centers, and 3 days to more rural areas. So I hope that most people in the US will get their games and goodies ahead of Thanksgiving weekend.
USPS priority is being used for most of the packages (I have 350+ flat rate medium boxes, 50+ large and another 300 boxes that are USPS priority but not flat rate all ready to go). FEDEX is being used on all orders of three or more games in the US including orders to store - 150 boxes.
To be honest I am not even sure that this all going to fit into the garage and still give me room to pack - but I'll find a way to make it work.
